STOCKHOLM - In a live chat on TV4.se, Per reveals that there's a European club tour planned in April-May 2009. The tour will include concerts in Sweden and "a concert in London in April if everything goes fine."
TDR doesn't have any further details at this point.

Per implineste 50 de ani in curand, dar nici gand sa se relaxeze! In schimb, Per urca inca o treapta de viteza cu un nou album solo si planuri atat pentru Roxette cat si pentru Gyllene Tider:
Am trei cantece grozave pentru Roxette, care asteapta, spune el.
Linistea nu poate dura mult. "Party Crasher", albumul actual in limba engleza, a fost scris imediat dupa turneul "En handig man", toamna trecuta. In ianurie, Per a mers in studio.
Cand lucrez, nu urmaresc ceva anume, pana cand, brusc, face boom. Nu planuisem un nou album, dar am inceput sa produc niste ritmuri bazate pe idei stranse de-a lungul anilor.
Vorbind prin altii
In timpul interviului, Per face referire de multe ori la Beatles, Neil Young, ABBA sau Bob Dylan. La 49 de ani vorbeste tot timpul citandu-i pe altii, este ca o enciclopedie vie de istorie a muzicii.
Benny Andersson a spus odata ca este foarte fericit ca o lume intreaga ii impartaseste gusturile muzicale: toti iubesc ABBA. Asa si eu, sunt cel mai mare fan al muzicii mele.
Abia a trecut un an de la ultimul album. De ce asa repede?
Am produs multe albume intr-un timp foarte scurt, deci chiar nu ar trebui sa mai scot inca unul. Dar ritmul pe care il au artistii de astazi este de cicluri de 3-4 ani. Nu merge fara sa accelerezi. De ce as face eu altfel?
Cu ce te ocupi intre discuri?
Mereu ma ocup de discuri (rasete). Mereu am un proiect la rand. Cred ca vor mai fi multe proiecte Roxette si Gyllene Tider, in suedeza si in engleza.
Sunt planuri concrete?
Am trei melodii grozave pentru Roxette in sertarul de la birou si tot atatea melodii bune pentru Gyllene Tider. Totul e acolo.
Pentru cand?

Ne punem o intrebare simpla: "De ce canta Per din nou in engleza?" Si raspunsul e si mai simplu: Per planuieste o revenire internationala.
Tinta mea e Europa, spune Per pentru Expressen si dezvaluie planurile pentru un turneu european.
Saptamana viitoare, "Party Crasher" va fi lansat oficial. Primul single, "Silly Really", deja a cucerit clasamentele suedeze si Per spera ca muzica lui nu se va rezuma doar la culorile Albastru si Galben.
Pentru Europa lucrez in primul rand, spune el, plin de incredere.
Singura problema acum este EMI. Momentan, caut si alte case de discuri, ce pot lansa albumul in tari in care EMI este aproape inexistent.
Gessle spune ca a fost si in S.U.A, pentru a explora interesul in tara in care single-urile Roxette au fost #1 de patru ori.
L-am intalnit pe Nile Rodgers printr-un prieten comun, in New York, si a zis ca i-a placut foarte mult "Silly Really", spune Per.
Rodgers, pe langa alte lucruri, a produs pe Donna Summer, Madonna si Duran Duran in anii '80, si a fost membru in Chichester - care l-a inspirat pe Per in timp ce lucra la "Party Crasher".
Per Gessle, care a lansat un disc solo fara egal in anii 2000, pare sa-si fi umplut calendarul pentru anul viitor. Ne spune ca Christoffer Lundqvist si Clarence Ofwerman, care il ajuta in studio, ii terorizau in mod constant inbox-ul cu sugestii despre ce cantece sa cante live.
Vreau sa cant in cluburi rock
In Europa, discul poate fi lansat chiar si in februarie / martie. Dar, s-ar putea si mai tarziu. In orice caz, va fi un turneu.
Per spera sa cante in cluburi rock, un lucru pe care zice ca nu l-a mai facut pana acum, cu exceptia a trei concerte Roxette si a unui concert solo in Norvegia.
Chiar daca este concentrat pe "Party Crasher", Per spune ca este deschis la orice.

According to the official EMI website in Germany, Per's album "Party Crasher" will be released on February 27.

So, how far in the East will Per go in his european tour? Here are the poll results, after almost 150 opinions have been registered.
It's 100% certain that Per will include Germany, Norway, Italy in his next european tour. And it's pretty certain (77%) that Sweden, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia will see Per, too.
Poland and Hungary have 62% chances of seeing Per, and for Romania, Ukraine and Bulgaria, it's almost a toss of a dime: 51%.
It seems that Russia is too far for Per, having only 19% chances for being included in his tour.
At least, that't what the fans think. We are looking froward for any official disclosures. Maybe Per will tell us something on his birthday!

20 YEARS AGO...THE BEGINING OF A BIG/HUGE SUCCESS!



On the evening of March 28, 1989, the telephone rang at Per Gessle's home in Halmstad. When Per answered, Roxette's manager Thomas Erdtman screamed down the other end that "The Look" was #1 on the U.S. Billboard chart!
Swedish radio P4 Retro celebrated the occasion with an hour of Roxette Special with a few rare demos!
You know this type of chorus:... na,na,na she's got the look!

It was a cold day in Antwerpen, Belgium on the 23th of October 2009, when the annual festival for classical music Night Of The Proms was having it’s premiere concert for the 25th time around. It has become a tradition for the people here to attend these shows, even buying tickets for next season’s concerts without knowing who’ll be performing. This year, however, was a different case, as people from all over Europe and even some from over the Atlantic, were gathering in front of the Sportpaleis hall, hours before the official opening. One could see a bulgarian flag, a brazil one, as well as a home made one saing: "Marie, Welcome Back!", to name a few. This strange mix of people were not standing in the cold to go to a classical concert, they were waiting for a rock concert!

The event began at 20.30 with an symphonic piece garnished with some fire special effects (much to the regret of those standing in the front rows who felt the fire a little too close). Roxette made their first appereance at the end of the first part of the show with the song Wish I Could Fly. The orchestra blended beautifuly the end of the classical piece with the familiar intro of the song. Then the magic began. Per and Marie appeared from out of the mist, being lifted up at the center of the stage. Marie was wearing a glittering blue suit, Per was in an elegant black suit with stripes. They went to their places and she started singing. She was a little bit uncertain at the beginning but quickly gained power with the support of the fans who were constantly shouting her name. After the end of the song they went away having left the audience eager for more. Then a 25 minutes pause took place and it was not until the end of the second part of the concert when the sound of Roxette filled the hall again.

They began with The Look. This time around the whole band was at the front of the stage (except for Pelle, who was playing the drums with the orchestra in the back). They had changed their clothes and were storming the crowd of this symphonical event with a rock sound. And what an amazing sound it was! Marie was feeling much better on the stage, smiling all the time, playing air guitar and waving to the fans on the front rows. It seemed like she was happy to see them as much as they were happy to see her and one thing was clear – both Per & Marie were having a lot of fun being Roxette again! When the song ended they greeted the crowd and Per said the next song reminds them of Hollywood. What followed was an accoustic version of It Must Have Been Love with just the two of them and Per’s guitar. It was an extraordinary experience as all the audiance – fans and non-fans – sang the lyrics along with Marie. After the first chorus she said: "One more time" and the song began again, this time with all the orchestra playing with them. Next was Joyride – both the crowd and the band have already gained full speed and were at their peak. This was no longer a symphonical event – it has become a full-fledged Roxette concert! But the night’s favourite was Listen To Your Heart. Marie gave out one truly phenomenal performance of this classic and it was the perfect ending of the perfect night that marked the comeback of Roxette.
The concert itself concluded with all the artists coming to the stage to receive big bouquets. They then took turns at throwing the flowers in the audience. Per and Marie did the same but this wasn’t yet the end of the night for some of the die-hard fans there. After the show a group of fans waited to see their idols and Per was kind enough to come out. He stayed a while to chat with the Roxette fans, sign things, took pictures etc. He said that the band was not at it’s best tonight because Marie was ill and have been taking penicillin for her throat and Christoffer was having a stomach flue. Then he hooped back into the van with his wife, son and the other Roxette members (except for Marie, who had left earlier). All in all it was a night to remember!

The second show took place on Saturday and there were even more fan groups to support Roxette. Some of them were from Germany, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Brazil, Hungary, Hurvatska and Belgium of course. All this resulted in even more furious shouting at the special moments of the concert when Roxette were performing. The concert itself was brilliant again and this time Pelle and Clarence too joined Per outside the hall, meeting and taking pictures with the fans. These two nights showed that Roxette is not just still alive, but they are kicking with energy and enthusiasm to continue to be our beloved idols. And that’s all that matters.
