SmarCAM Italia

Convenient pay-TV for receiver mfrs

The SmarCAM Italia enables integrated digital televisions (iDTVs) and set-top boxes (STBs) to receive premium and pay-per-view TV channels, without the
need for any specific Conditional Access integration.
This open access is made possible through standards such as the DVB Common Interface (DVB-CI) that is endorsed by DGTVi, and allows consumers to buy an iDTV or STB independent of their television service provider, now and in the future.

One CAM, all services.

With comprehensive support for the majority represented Conditional Access systems in Italy, the SmarCAM Italia is the one CAM that end-users need to
view premium services. The SmarCAM Italia supports two smart cards simultaneously – one of standard size and one of SIM size – so that the end
user can view content from multiple services as conveniently as changing
channels, without having to exchange smart cards or CAMs.

Interoperability support services

SmarDTV understands that achieving interoperability between the CAM and the iDTV through the DVB-CI slot requires significant technical expertise.
We have created an Interoperability Partner Program (IPP) to help simplify
the process, resulting in a superior enduser experience while maintaining the
iDTV manufacturer’s brand reputation. The IPP provides iDTV and STB manufacturers with the required equipment and technical support to make compatibility testing straightforward. Included in the equipment package are three CAMs, a validation test plan, system tools, and technical support.
