Forza Horizon 6 Release Date Spotted In Predecessor
It was previously revealed that Forza Horizon 6 would launch sometime in 2026, although an official launch date has yet to be revealed beyond that. However, the release date for the next instalment in the open-world racing game series has been reportedly spotted inside Forza Horizon 5, of all places. According to @XBOXF10 on X, an in-game pop-up appeared in Forza Horizon 5 after leaving the garage that presented a pre-order offer for Forza Horizon 6. The aforementioned pre-order offer would grant early access to Forza Horizon 6 and allow players to "play 4 days early starting May 15," suggesting that the official release for Forza Horizon 6 is on May 19.
Incidentally, the pre-order bundle would also give players access to two post-launch expansions, a welcome pack, a VIP membership, and the Car Pass and Time Attack Car Pass. Pre-orderers will also receive an exclusive pre-tuned Ferrari J50 when Horizon 6 launches. The screenshot also reveals that Forza Horizon 6 will have a total of 550 vehicles and claims that Horizon 6 will have the biggest open world of any Forza game to date.

KDE Plasma 6.6 Enters Public Testing With Swathe of Performance and Us
KDE Plasma, one of the current top Linux desktop environments, has officially released version 6.6 into public beta. The new DE update features a number of user-facing and behind-the-scenes updates that should make a significant difference to end users. The first major change noted in the Plasma 6.6 update log is the addition of three new packages, plasma-login-manager, plasma-keyboard, and plasma-setup, and these new packages—except for the plasma-setup wizard—are related to KDE's move away from SDDM as the display manager. Starting with KDE 6.6, SDDM will be replaced by KDE's own Plasma Login Manager, which is slated to introduce a number of new features, including improved multi-monitor support, support for HDR, different keyboard layouts and layout switching, power profile management, and screen readers. Overall, the improvements in PLM alone are substantial, but that's not all that KDE Plasma 6.6 has in store for its users.
The full changelog is available on the KDE Wiki, but some of the highlights include saving a custom theme from current settings, connecting to Wi-Fi networks with a QR code, OCR in Spectacle, improved support for controllers as input devices in the KWin window manager, automatic brightness on devices with ambient light sensors, the implementation of the USB portal to allow sandboxed apps to access USB devices, and a host of accessibility options, like slow keys on Wayland and a monochrome filter. Performance and efficiency tweaks are also on the cards, with the new update promising reduced idle memory usage, a number of fixes for memory leaks, smoother animations on high refresh displays, and improved screen mirroring support. KDE Plasma 6.6 public beta can be downloaded from KDE.org. Although Plasma 6.6 is by definition an incremental upgrade, the number of changes present are promising, especially those related to the new login manager and the promised performance fixes. The full release for Plasma 6.6 is planned for February 17.

French Store Lists AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D SKUs with January 29 Release Da
Late last month, AMD's speculated Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 and Ryzen 7 9850X3D gaming CPUs reportedly moved closer to becoming a reality. A series of late 2025 leaks have pointed to an eventual introduction of expanded Ryzen 9000 series "Zen 5" desktop product range; possibly at this week's CES trade show. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D SKU has broken cover on numerous occasions, even emerging very briefly from an official source last November. Fresh sleuthing activities have focused on a French e-tailer: LDLC—as evidenced by VideoCardz receiving a tip-off earlier today. The LDLC webstore has inadvertently listed Team Red's not-yet-launched Ryzen 7 9850X3D CPU model, in retail and tray (OEM) forms. Both product pages bear the same release date: January 29, 2026.
Also, a very specific "3 PM" local launch time is mentioned. No pricing details are outlined (at the time of writing), but basic specifications seem to align with past leaks—again, we are looking at an 8-core 16-thread "Granite Ridge" processor, destined for the AM5 socket. Additionally, the two active pages outline base 4.7 GHz and turbo/boost 5.6 GHz clocks, (a total of) 104 MB of 3D V-Cache, a 4 nm node process, and a 120 W TDP rating. Mid-way through December, a Swiss shop presented a $553 price point (by mistake)—positioning the new chip about $70 over the related Ryzen 7 9800X3D SKU (at launch MSRP). Interestingly, the LDLC site does not list the more mysterious Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 SKU.
Update: A VideoCardz follow-up report claims/re-confirms that AMD's Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor will arrive at retail outlets on January 29 (9 am EST), based on information in a leaked sales embargo document. Apparently, no pre-sales are permitted—meaning that pre-orders will not be opened up when reviews start appearing online.

Keychron Launches Lemokey P3 HE Gaming Keyboard with Quick-Disassembly
Keychron has officially announced the P3 HE under its gaming sub-brand, Lemokey. The Lemokey P3 HE is a new TKL gaming keyboard with an aluminium case and toolless disassembly. The case is also stuffed with the standard sound absorbing foams, both between the PCB and aluminium plate and between the PCB and the bottom case. The case, which comes in black or white with matching keycaps, is finished with an electrophoretic coating and has a silicone bean gasket mount to cut out unwelcome reverberation between the plate and case. Unlike Keychron's newer Q HE 8K series keyboards, which user north-pole HE switches—meaning wider compatibility with other HE switches, like the Gateron Jade Pros and Wooting Lekker Tikkens—the P3 HE still relies on the Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula switches, which limits switch compatibility to other Gateron KS-37 magnetic switches. On a more positive note, the Lemokey P3 HE is priced at $169.99, which is significantly less than the $239.99 you'd pay for an equivalent HE keyboard from Keychron.
While the Lemokey P3 HE is somewhat similar in many ways to the Keychron Q3 HE, there are some distinct differences. For starters, that quick-release toolless disassembly feature is only found on the Lemokey keyboard, and the P3 HE uses Cherry profile double-shot PBT shine-through keycaps instead of the KSA and OSA profile keycaps that Keychron usually opts for. There is also a double-shot PBT option without shine-through legends, for those who prefer the more subtle look. The backlighting on the P3 HE is north-facing, for improved compatibility with regular shine-through keycaps. Unlike the 75% and 65% P1 HE and P2 HE, the P3 HE doesn't have a customizable rotary encoder. The Lemokey P3 HE has both wired and wireless connectivity, with the 2.4 GHz and USB-C connections offering 1,000 Hz polling, while the Bluetooth 5.2 connection is limited to 125 Hz and can connect to up to four devices. Being an HE keyboard means that Lemokey Launcher offers features like customizable actuation point, SOCD, rapid trigger, DKS, and analog input in addition to the standard remapping and macro capabilities.

AMD Ryzen "Medusa Point AO" Stepping Seen in Shipping Doc, Basic Spec
Earlier this week, another example of AMD's next-gen Ryzen "Medusa Point" mobile chip design was put in the spotlight. Olrak29 has discovered an interesting entry (dated from late last year) within NBD shipping manifests, that reaffirms information from a previous "Zen 6"-related leak. A "Medusa 1 A0" integrated microprocessor is described, along with an apparent 28 W TDP and FP10 socket type. An early December 2025 report was based on similar information, also outlining the alleged existence of a more potent 45 W TDP-rated APU design. As mentioned above, the speculated 28 W "Low TDP" variant has emerged again, albeit with a revised silicon stepping—now A0. This designation signals that Team Red was still examining samples for validation purposes, at least towards the end of last year.
Olrak29 pointed out that "4C4D"—as seen in their screenshot—indicates a "classic 4-core and dense 4-core" layout for the 28 W TDP configured "Medusa Point" chip. An older leak proposes the presence of two additional low-power cores. This processor core configuration (4C + 4D + 2LP) could materialize in futuristic Ryzen 5 and 7 APUs. Details of the "Medusa Point 1" integrated graphics solution are not present on the aforementioned NBD listing. The usual soothsayers posit that AMD will leverage "RDNA 3.5+" iGPUs for this class, instead of pulling in truly next-gen architecture (RDNA 4, RDNA 5 or UDNA). "Zen 6"-based mobile chips are not expected to arrive until 2027. In the interim, Team Red is prepping "Gorgon Point" (Zen 5/RDNA 3.5) for an imminent launch.

(PR) Quadric Inference Engine Attracts $30 million Series C Funding
Quadric, the inference engine that powers on-device AI chips, today announced an oversubscribed $30 million Series C funding round, bringing total capital raised to $72 million. ACCELERATE Fund, managed by BEENEXT Capital Management, led the round. Uncork Capital returned with one of the largest insider commitments through its opportunity fund, joined by insider Pear VC. New investors include Volta, Gentree, Wanxiang America, Pivotal, and Silicon Catalyst Ventures. The funding comes as Quadric hits a revenue inflection: product revenues more than tripled in 2025 vs. 2024. Quadric is entering 2026 with accelerating design-win momentum, driven by growing adoption of the General Purpose NPU (GPNPU) processor IP across edge LLM, automotive, and enterprise vision applications.
"We've been deeply impressed by Quadric's innovative architecture, its disruptive approach to AI inference at the edge, and their strong market traction particularly in Asian markets," said Hero Choudhary, Managing Partner at BEENEXT. Interesting AMD FCH-on-a-Stick Addon Card Gives the Appearance of Inte
AMD creates the top X670E and X870E chipsets by joining two AMD "Promontory 21" FCH chips at the hip. Each of these takes in a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 connection, and puts out 8 PCIe 4.0 lanes and four SATA 6 Gbps ports that can be re-configured as four additional Gen 3 lanes. The X870E/X670E chipset hence has a total of 12 PCIe 4.0 lanes and up to eight SATA 6 Gbps ports on the platform. A company decided to put one of these chips on an add-on card, so you could upgrade your single-FCH platform, such as B650, B850, or X870, with more PCIe lanes wired out as additional M.2 slots, and some SATA ports.
PC enthusiasts in China decided to install this card on an Intel motherboard to hilarious results—utilities such as AIDA64 are confused, thinking these Promontory 21 chips are the platform's main chipset. This gives the appearance of an Intel processor on an AMD chipset motherboard. The card has four M.2 slots, two on each side, and four SATA 6 Gbps ports. At least two of these are Gen 4 x4, while the others could be Gen 3 x4 and M.2-SATA, used when none of the SATA 6 Gbps ports is connected. There's no word on how to get one of these cards.
