Thumbs up CD Projekt RED Teases Upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 v2.3 Patch - Could be Su

Last March, CD Projekt RED (CDPR) announced the end of developing major content updates for Cyberpunk 2077. Instead, a smaller group would concentrate on pushing out smaller batches post-launch content. At the time, international studio priorities were shifting to next-gen productions—namely The Witcher 4 (Poland), and a Cyberpunk sequel (North America). The last multi-platform patch—version 2.21, consisting mostly of fixes and improvements—arrived on January 23. Almost half a year later, industry watchers have noticed intriguing Virtuos employee activity on LinkedIn—indicating some sort of "unannounced Cyberpunk 2077 DLC" collaboration with CDPR. Lately, this contract developer is best known for its modernization/remastering of Bethesda's classic The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006) open world RPG.

During a mid-week "REDstreams—Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2" live broadcast, Alicja Kozera—a company senior community manager—fielded queries from the community. One individual brought up the subject of rumored future DLC—Kozera responded: "I can tell you right now, we are planning another part for the game. The last one wasn't the (final) one." Yesterday evening, Marcin Momot—CDPR's Global Community Director—outlined a loose schedule, regarding an upcoming preview: "we're not done yet! Stay tuned for more info about the next Cyberpunk 2077 update coming later this month. We'll start spilling the beans closer to the release of patch 2.3 (that's its name), so for now, we ask for a bit more patience. Let the team cook!" Naturally, Virtuos has not been named as a collaborator. CDPR is no stranger to outsourcing; as revealed in a recent CyberPunk 2077 Switch 2 build discussion. Additionally, Saber Interactive was roped in as the primary porter of The Witcher 3 onto the original Switch hybrid console.

Thumbs up (PR) ASE's State-of-the-Art Semiconductor Assembly System Bolstered by

Often, when semiconductor companies talk about chip manufacturing, they are referring to the specific process of applying masks and etching silicon wafers that takes place in advanced foundries. While these are critical steps in chip production, they don't result in a functional processor in and of themselves. Fully processed wafers are often transferred from the foundry manufacturer to an OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) firm. There, newly built processors are mounted to underlying substrates, connected to other processors, and checked for errors.

ASE Technology Holdings is the largest OSAT in the world, with facilities in Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. It assembles and tests electronics for semiconductor manufacturers across the planet and has collaborated with AMD to develop 2.5D interposers and other advanced packaging since 2007. But it's one thing to build parts for a customer and something altogether different to adopt that customer's hardware into your own lines of business. ASE's collective requirements run the gamut from lightweight mobile systems to data center systems with dozens to hundreds of available CPU cores.

Thumbs up NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Max-Q/Mobile GPU Turns up in PC ID List

Post-Computex 2025, another hint about NVIDIA's next rung of current-gen mobile graphics cards has emerged online. Mid-week, harukaze5719 shared an intriguing screenshot of PCI IDs, accompanied by a brief message: "2d80-2dff = GB207." Most of the captured information is common knowledge, but an unreleased model was present. The "GeForce RTX 5050 Max-Q/Mobile" entry will likely translate into real life laptop/notebook form by mid-summer.

harukaze5719's leaked list seems to confirm the future deployment of a "GB207M" GPU die—likely the smallest and least potent iteration of Team Green's "Blackwell" gaming line. According to fresh reportage, a desktop sibling is supposedly being lined up for launch in July. A late April theory suggested AMD's preparing of RDNA 4 mobile "Radeon RX 9000M" GPUs; the least powerful options—reportedly based on a Navi 44 die—could compete with NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop design. Rival timelines are unclear, but manufacturing partners (Lenovo, LG, MSI, Razer etc.) seem to be prepping a plethora of Team Green-based portable gaming devices.

Thumbs up Kuroutoshikou Reveals Familiar Dual-fan Radeon RX 9060 XT Card Design

Kuroutoshikou has updated its custom AMD graphics card portfolio with brand-new Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB and 8 GB options. As covered in the recent past, this Japanese brand seems to source card designs from better known manufacturers—namely PowerColor/PC Partner and GALAX. Their latest offerings are unstickered black Reaper cards, albeit not in overclocked form—Kuroutoshikou has opted for Team Red's reference settings. A stamped PowerColor logo is still present on the largely featureless design's I/O shield.

When looking through Kuroutoshikou's catalog, several familiar current and past-gen unbadged Hellhound, Fighter and Low Profile models are present and accounted for. A minimalist aesthetic extends to retail packaging; the brand's tasteful signature box sports a mostly brushed gold-effect theme. Their Blade and Soul NEO crossover signalled a break from the norm—boringly, character illustrations were not applied to shroud or backplate pieces. Unsurprisingly, Kuroutoshikou products are exclusive to the Japanese PC hardware market. Fortunately, comprehensive distribution of nigh-identical PowerColor IPs is in effect across most of the globe.

Thumbs up NVIDIA Grabs Market Share, AMD Loses Ground, and Intel Disappears in L

Within the discrete graphics card sector, NVIDIA achieved a remarkable 92% share of the add-in board (AIB) GPU market in the first quarter of 2025, according to data released by Jon Peddie Research (JPR). This represents an 8.5% increase compared to NVIDIA's previous position. By contrast, AMD's share contracted to just 8%, down 7.3 points, while Intel's presence effectively disappeared, falling to 0% after losing 1.2 points. JPR reported that AIB shipments reached 9.2 million units during Q1 2025 despite desktop CPU shipments declining to 17.8 million units. The firm projects that the AIB market will face a compound annual decline of 10.3% from 2024 to 2028, although the installed base of discrete GPUs is expected to grow to 130 million units by the end of the forecast period. By 2028, an estimated 86% of desktop PCs are expected to feature a dedicated graphics card.

NVIDIA's success this quarter can be attributed to its launch of the RTX 50 series GPUs. In contrast, AMD's RDNA 4 GPUs were released significantly later in Q1. Additionally, Intel's Battlemage Arc GPUs, which were launched in Q4 2024, have struggled to gain traction, likely due to limited availability and low demand in the mainstream market. The broader PC GPU market, which includes integrated solutions, contracted by 12% from the previous quarter, with a total of 68.8 million units shipped. Desktop graphics unit sales declined by 16%, while notebook GPUs decreased by 10%. Overall, NVIDIA's total GPU share rose by 3.6 points, AMD's dipped by 1.6 points, and Intel's declined by 2.1 points. Meanwhile, data center GPUs bucked the overall downward trend, rising by 9.6% as enterprises continue to invest in artificial intelligence applications. On the CPU side, notebook processors accounted for 71% of shipments, with desktop CPUs comprising the remaining 29%.
