Default Deals: Google Pixels are up to $300 off, Nothing Phone (3) price also

Pixels were on a break for a while, in terms of discounts, but now they are back in full force. The entire Pixel 10 lineup is up to $300 off and so is the vanilla model from last year. The Google Pixel 9 flaunts some advantages over its replacement – a large 1/1.31” 50MP sensor in the main camera and a high-resolution 48MP ultra-wide (vs. 13MP). It misses the 10.8MP 5x/112mm periscope, though, that’s new for 2025. It also has a slightly smaller battery, 4,700mAh vs. 4,970mAh. However, battery life on the Pixel 9 is actually better (with a 13:05h Active use score compared to 12:08h for the...

Default Weekly poll results: the Oppo Find X9 Pro is more desirable than the F

The results from last week’s poll are in – Oppo nailed the hardware of the two Find X9 models. However, quite a few people are having issues with the price tag.Oppo Find X9 and X9 Pro highlightsThe Oppo Find X9 Pro is the clear favorite of the two – you’ll see it more clearly in the next chart. Some commenters have already bought an X9 Pro, others are still looking – and some are waiting for the Find X9 Ultra. Those are the “money is no object” crowd, of course. The group that does object to the X9 Pro pricing is quite a bit larger. €1,300 is proving to be a tough sell...

Default Valve announces new Steam Machine and Steam Controller

Valve has announced a trio of new hardware devices within the Steam Hardware family. These new devices build upon the platform and the success of the Steam Deck, and expand that to broader audiences. The first major device is the new Steam Machine. The Steam Machine as a concept has existed for a decade through various devices made by other brands but this is the first time Valve is making one. It's a compact, cuboid device that is essentially a Steam Deck meant for the living room TV. The Steam Machine runs on a semi-custom AMD chip with a 6-core/12-thread CPU based on the Zen4...

Default Apple Digital ID is now live for US passports

Today, Apple is announcing the launch of Digital ID for US passports. This is accepted at TSA checkpoints at more than 250 airports across the country for in-person identity verification during domestic travel. Apple unsurprisingly promises that "additional Digital ID acceptance use cases" will come in the future. As already implied by the wording above, Digital ID is not a replacement for a physical passport and can't be used for international travel. To add your passport to Apple Wallet, you'll scan the photo page of your passport, and will then be asked to use your iPhone to read...

Default Samsung Galaxy A37 is on its way, test firmware shows

Samsung launched the Galaxy A36 in March, and since we're fast approaching its one-year anniversary, it probably won't surprise you to find out that the Korean company is now busy developing its successor, the Galaxy A37. Firmware for the Galaxy A37 has now been spotted on Samsung's test servers. This is specifically intended for the SM-A376U model number, which belongs to the US market. In fact, some of the test builds are for US carriers like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and UScellular. Samsung Galaxy A37 firmware That's a pretty good indication that you should expect the Galaxy...

Default Samsung Galaxy S26 is getting faster RAM

In today’s Galaxy S26 leak, Samsung is reportedly bringing faster RAM speeds on its next-gen flagships. According to Ice Universe, the entire Galaxy S26 series will feature LPDDR5X RAM with 10.7Gbps speeds. Samsung has been using LPDDR5X RAM on its S-series since the S24 generation, with the S25 series offering up to 9.6 Gbps speeds. The S26 series will come with 12GB RAM as standard across the range, just like the S25 series, but all models will get the 10% faster transfer RAM speeds. Samsung introduced its LPDDR5X RAM back in 2022 with 8.5Gbps speeds. That was followed by the...

Default Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 to be thinner and lighter

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip8 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 next summer, and today a report from its home country of Korea has some intriguing details about the former. The Flip8 will allegedly be at least 10% thinner and lighter than its predecessor. That would make it at most 6mm thin when opened, 12mm thick when closed, and around 170g in weight. This is going to be key to Samsung achieving 10% better sales for the Flip8 and Fold8 compared to the Flip7 and Fold7. The company has apparently set a sales target of 6.7 million units for the upcoming foldables. Samsung...

Default nubia V80 Design launches with 6.75" 120Hz display, 4G connectivity an

The nubia V80 Design launched sneakily in several markets. Note that this is the same model that leaked as the ZTE Blade V80 Vita, so other markets may see this under a different name. The phone is built around its 6.75” LCD – it’s a 900 x 1,940px panel with 317ppi pixel density. It runs at 120Hz refresh rate and can reach 1,000 nits peak brightness. There is a 16MP selfie camera punch-holed into the display, but no fingerprint reader – that is on the side instead. The nubia V80 Design measures 7.7mm thick and weighs 191g. This is with a 5,000mAh battery inside that is capable of...

Default Report: the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is coming next month, some specs

According to one publication quoted by Ice Universe, Samsung will launch its first tri-foldable next month. The news comes with some key details about the phone, even though Samsung has been fairly secretive about it. The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold will allegedly measure 4.2mm thick when opened and 14mm when closed. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold7 (a bi-fold model) measures the same 4.2mm when opened and 8.9mm when closed (note that the hinge leaves a small gap, which adds to the thickness). The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is allegedly coming on December 5 The Z TriFold will boast...

Default Hands-on with the Honor Magic8 Pro camera in Shenzhen, China

The Honor Magic8 Pro launched in China last month, and is coming soon to the global stage. But we got the rare opportunity to take it for an early spin, so we traveled east straight to the source. The camera system itself has been tweaked slightly, but it isn't overhauled. The main camera is still a 50MP 1/1.3-inch sensor, but its lens is a fixed f/1.6 and no longer an f/1.4-2.0 unit. We can live with that - variable aperture systems in wide-angle phone cameras are more of a gimmick than anything. The lens is also now slightly wider at 23mm compared to 24mm on last year's model. The...

Default Weekly poll results: who needs the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite when the CM

Nothing’s recent market strategy has left us scratching our heads – and it’s not just us, it seems. Last week’s poll shows that most people gravitate towards other offerings from the company instead of their latest release. The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite failed to convince the majority. Some will wait for reviews, a few are interested but the phone isn’t available near them – even so, most people would rather get the non-Lite Nothing Phone (3a) or pick up the CMF Phone 2 Pro.And why wouldn’t they – Nothing’s CMF models offer awesome value for money. We see it with the CMF Headphone...

Default Deals: Amazon matches Samsung's Galaxy S25 offer, beats its Galaxy Z F

Amazon’s Black Friday Week starts on Thursday, but the retailer is already offering early deals – and it’s not the only one. Earlier this week, we looked at deals from Samsung US.Now Amazon is matching at least some of those. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ is $838 (or $850, depending on which color you want), which is the same price as on Samsung US with the instant discount. The Samsung offer has an alternative option – trade-in credit instead of a discount. Samsung Galaxy S25+ Amazon: $162/$150...
