Default Google launches Gemini Live on Android, a "mobile conversational exper

At its hardware launch event today, Google also unveiled some AI related goodies. First off, Gemini Live. This is rolling out today to Gemini Advanced subscribers in English on Android phones. It delivers "a mobile conversational experience that lets you have free-flowing conversations with Gemini", according to Google itself. So, basically like Google Assistant, but AI branded because everything has to be these days? You can interrupt Gemini Live mid-response to dive deeper on a point or pause a conversation and come back to it later, so that's better. Gemini Live also works...

Default Google introduces compact Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL

How about that for a plot twist - the Google Pixel Pro now comes in a compact size! Today, Google took the wraps off the new Pixel 9 Pro with a 6.3-inch display, alongside the successor of its last year's flagship, which is now called Pixel 9 Pro XL with a 6.8-inch display. Those displays are both high-brightness (up to 3,000 nits) Super Actua LTPO units with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a flat Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on top. Default Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 cancel twice as much noise with Tensor A1 chip

At its grand event today Google unveiled the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 3, and, finally, the Pixel Buds Pro 2. These are (rather obviously) the successors to the Pixel Buds Pro from 2022, and Google promises a lot of improvements.First, the new buds feature Google's own Tensor A1 chip, which delivers "powerful performance". So powerful, in fact, that you can expect these buds to cancel twice as much noise as the original Pixel Buds Pro in mid-frequency ranges (400Hz-2kHz). Not just that, but ANC adapts to your environment three million times per...

Default Pixel 9 Pro Fold brings larger displays, updated hinge and slimmer pro

The new Pixel 9 series consists of four members and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the ultimate entry and a far more refined device than the first gen Pixel Fold which was looking pretty dated compared to the new crop of foldables.Google completely overhauled the design of its Pixel 9 Pro Fold, making it both taller and slimmer than its predecessor. The second-gen folding Pixel adopts a square shape with some 15.5mm difference in height from the Pixel Fold, surpassing even Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6 in that department.Pixel 9 Pro Fold measures 10.5mm folded and a mere 5.1mm when...

Default Google Pixel Watch 3 is official: two sizes, UWB and Bluetooth LE Aud

The Google Pixel Watch 3 is now official and while it retains the same design it brings drastic changes to the lineup. While you'd be forgiven for confusing it for a Pixel Watch 2 from a distance you now have a choice between two sizes - 41mm and 45mm.Inside the Pixel Watch 3 has the same Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 SoC for wearables, the same collection of sensors such as HR monitor , ECG readings, SpO2, skin thermometer and GPS. The new addition is the UWB chip. This means the Pixel Watch 3 is the first Android smartwatch to offer UWB connectivity, making it easier to unlock your phone...

Default Google Pixel 9 unveiled: same size, more AI, more power and a new came

Google is going early this year with an August launch instead of an October one and there is some reshuffling in its Pixel product lineup. The vanilla phone stays in place, but it fell down in rank since the company is introducing a similarly sized Pro model.Google Pixel 9The Google Pixel 9 comes with a 6.3” OLED display, a 120Hz FHD+ panel. Google has dropped the optical fingerprint sensor and switched over to the more reliable ultrasonic kind. Peak brightness is noticeably higher at 2,700 nits (up from 2,000 nits). The small bump to the screen diagonal makes the...

Default WhatsApp will add voice chat mode for Meta AI with ten different voice

WhatsApp is currently working on adding a voice chat mode for the Meta AI chatbot that resides within the messaging app in some markets. In a future update to WhatsApp, this will be enabled and you'll even be able to choose a voice for the AI chatbot. Obviously, being able to use your voice to interact with Meta AI will make such interactions a lot simpler than when you have to text. The option to choose the Meta AI's voice is available in the 2.24.17.16 update for WhatsApp beta for Android, which you can get a hold of if you have an Android device (of course) and you enroll it into...

Default Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra might be called S26 Note, S26+ could be S26 P

People on the internet don't seem to like Google's new smartphone naming scheme, even though it makes sense - there's a vanilla Pixel 9 which is the lowest-specced, two slab Pros in two sizes, and a Pro Fold because with that price tag not attaching the "Pro" moniker to it would be insane.Anyway, the same people are probably going to not like the direction Samsung is now rumored to be considering going in the future. According to a tipster over on X, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may not be called that. Instead, Samsung could go with Galaxy S26 Note, to emphasize its built-in S Pen.Samsung...

Default Google will keep selling the original Pixel Fold

Earlier this week, Google made the Pixel 9 family official, and this includes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the successor to last year's original Pixel Fold. Following the event, the Google Store has marked the Pixel Fold as "no longer available", but apparently that won't be the case for long. While we wouldn't have been at all surprised if Google decided to discontinue the Pixel Fold in light of its successor's launch, apparently that's not the case. A statement from Google clarifies the fact that the Pixel Fold will actually return. The company will sell the Pixel Fold again, starting...

Default It's fine: all Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL phones have LTPO displays

Crisis averted – it turns out that the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL units sold in India, Malaysia and Singapore do indeed have LTPO displays, the same Super Actua panels that the rest of the world is getting. Google has updated the specs listed on the support page that caused this confusion. There’s more good news – all Pixel 9 phones support Wi-Fi 7 in all regions. This includes the vanilla Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google fixed the mistake in the specs listings and added a note that operation in the 6GHz band is available only in regions where local regulations allow it....

Default Google Pixel 9 in for review

This is the Pixel 9 - the most affordable ticket to Google's latest AI goodies. It's also a very competent yet reasonably compact Android phone, which is not too common these days. This year's Pixels ship in a recycled paper box with a sleeve. There's a USB-C cable in the box and that's that.We also have the €40 official Pixel 9 case, which is available in six colors. It fits perfectly snug on the phone, especially around the camera bar. Upfront it isn't too intrusive. It's a soft silicone but it doesn't turn out your pocket when you take the phone off like some cheap ones...

Default Epic Games Store launches on mobile

Just over four years ago, Fortnite was removed from the App Store and Google Play for trying to bypass Apple and Google’s payment systems for in-game purchases of its in-game currency V-Bucks. The game studio embarked on a long legal journey against Apple and Google which led us to today’s official launch of the Epic Games Store for iOS and Android.Fortnite is officially back on mobile for Android users worldwide and iOS users in the EU. It is also joined by Rocket League Sideswipe and Fall Guys with the latter making its official debut on mobile. You’ll need an iPhone running iOS...

Default iPhone 16 Pro Max dummies leak again, this time showing the mysterious

Earlier this month a leak showed us three dummy iPhone 16 Pro Max units, with one color missing. Today, a new leaked shot rectifies that error. So now we have four dummy iPhone 16 Pro Max units posing, and showing us what are rumored to be all the hues in which you'll be able to buy this phone.Aside from the black, white, and "Natural" hues, this year Apple will swap out the blue of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max for the bronze-like color you can see below. Or is that copper-like? Brown even?Anyway, it's definitely going to stand out in a sea of otherwise cold colors - we're used...
