(PR) ASUS and Noctua Announce ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition Gra
Following the resounding success of the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 Noctua Edition, the Noctua Edition of ASUS' GeForce RTX 4080 is the third graphics card to feature Noctua fans and a heatsink that has been co-engineered by Noctua. By switching from the stock three slim 110 mm fans to two of Noctua's award-winning NF-A12x25 PWM 120 mm units and to a more elaborate, tailored heatsink with vapour chamber and five instead of two 8 mm diameter heatpipes, thermals and acoustics of ASUS' original TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 could be improved significantly for the Noctua Edition, making it the quietest card in its class.
"Building on the success or our previous collaboration, we are delighted to present the ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition. Once again, we have combined our expertise with Noctua's mastery of low-noise cooling to create a graphics card that offers an unparalleled experience without compromising on noise levels, reflecting the strength and innovation of our collaboration." said Kent Chien (Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the ASUS Multimedia Business Unit).

Steam Deck to Get Game Notes, New Notifications
Valve is apparently working on some sort of "game notes" system, and although details are vague, it could give players some way of adding private notes without leaving the game. The information was spotted by SteamDB Creator and dataminer, Pavel Djundik, suggesting such game notes "will be available in the Steam library, and on the web." Previously, the same source suggested that Valve is working on a new notification page as well.
The new "game notes" could easily be anything, but since a lot of players have been asking for a similar feature over at the Steam subreddit, it could suggest that Valve is actually listening to the community. As noted, Valve is also working on a notification page that could be similar to the notification page in the mobile app. Valve is expected to add the notification system as soon as it replaces some of the old parts of the Steam client. Of course, you should wait to hear an official announcement from Valve, as it could be coming soon.

(PR) DNP Develops TGV Glass Core Substrate for Semiconductor Packages
Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) has developed a Glass Core Substrate (GCS) targeting next-generation semiconductor packages. The new product replaces conventional resin substrates (ex. FC-BGA: Flip Chip-Ball Grid Array) with a glass substrate. Through the use of high-density Through Glass Via (TGV), it is now possible to provide a higher performance semiconductor package than that based on currently available technology. In addition, by adapting our panel manufacturing process, the new product can also support demands for high efficiency and large-scale substrate.
Features
Fine pitch and high reliability
The newly developed GCS includes a TGV necessary for electrically connecting the fine metal wiring configured on the front and back of the glass. It is a Conformal Type glass substrate in which a metal layer is adhered to the side walls of the via. Our new proprietary manufacturing method enhances the adhesion between glass and metal, which was difficult to achieve with conventional technology, to realize fine pitch and high reliability.

SilverStone Intros SX1000R Platinum SFX-L Power Supply
SilverStone today introduced the SX1000R Platinum, a 1000 W power supply in the SFX-L form-factor. The PSU meets SFX 12 V 4.0 (analogous to ATX 3.0), and PCI-Express Gen 5. It should offer identical power-delivery and excursion tolerance characteristics to a conventional ATX 3.0 + PCIe Gen 5-rated PSU. Internally, the SX1000R Platinum features a single +12 V rail design with a single 83.3 A rail, DC-to-DC switching to other voltage domains, and most common electrical protections, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit.
The PSU meets Cybenetics Platinum electrical switching efficiency ratings, Its 120 mm dual ball-bearing fan features idle fan-off as long as the load is under 200 W. Among the connectors provided by the SilverStone SX1000R Platinum are one 24-pin ATX, two 8-pin EPS, one 16-pin 12VHPWR with 600 W continuous power delivery capability, four 6+2 pin PCIe power, eight SATA power, three Molex, and one Berg. The company didn't reveal pricing or availability information.
