Lexar Renews Enthusiast Interest in DDR4 with Latest ARES Memory, Also
Lexar extended its latest-generation ARES RGB memory enthusiast product design to the DDR4 segment, with its ARES RGB DDR4 memory series. Available in 16 GB (2x 8 GB) dual-channel kits, these modules come with an Intel XMP 2.0 profile for DDR4-4000, and come with software-controllable RGB LED illumination. Over in the DDR5 camp, we see Lexar show off its DDR5-6000 memory module that's been validated on the AMD Ryzen 7000 "Zen 4" platform, with an AMD EXPO profile that enables the advertised speeds, timings, and AMD-specific sub-timings. On Intel machines, the included XMP 3.0 profile enables the relevant timings and sub-timings besides the DDR5-6000 speed. There's a non-RGB version of the ARES DDR5 series at lower speed variants, at DDR5-5200 (JEDEC-standard SPD).

Lexar Fly microSDXC Cards for Camera Drones and 1900 MB/s CFexpress Cards Pictured
Lexar at the 2023 International CES showed off the Fly series of microSDXC cards optimized for small camera drone applications. These cards come with a wider temperature-range, are optimized for low power, and meet SD V30 class (at least 30 MB/s of stable write speeds), making them capable of 4K UHD @ 30 Hz video recording. The Play series of microSDXC cards are optimized for high read performance, and targets handheld game consoles, offering up to 150 MB/s reads, and capacities of up to 1 TB. The cards come in sizes of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. Elsewhere in the Lexar booth, we come across their fastest CFexpress cards for DLSRs and high-performance video cameras.
The new Lexar Professional series CFexpress type-A cards come in capacities of up to 320 GB, with transfer rates of up to 900 MB/s and 400 MB/s guaranteed write-speeds. The larger CFexpress type-B cards can be as large as 2 TB in size, with transfer-speeds of up to 1900 MB/s and 400 MB/s guaranteed writes (the 400 MB/s figure is an arbitrary industry standard to ensure a particular format of video recording doesn't run into media-write errors). The more premium Lexar Professional Gold series are being targeted at 8K RAW video recording rigs (the latest crop of ARRI and Red cameras), supporting XQD, 1900 MB/s max reads, and 1500 MB/s max writes. Both the type-A and type-B formats come in capacities of up to 2 TB.

BenQ Showcases OLED and Fast-IPS Gaming Monitors at CES
PC display and projection major BenQ showed off three of its latest Mobiuz gaming monitors at the 2023 International CES. The star-attraction was the Mobiuz EX480UZ, a large-format 48-inch gaming display with an OLED panel. This display provides 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution with blistering fast 0.1 ms (GTG) response-time, and covers 98% of DCI-P3 with delta ≤2. It uses HDMI 2.1 inputs, and includes a powerful internal speaker-set consisting of two 5 W front-channels, and 10 W woofer. The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Pro.
The Mobiuz EX270QM is a 27-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) monitor with a Fast-IPS panel that offers 240 Hz refresh rate, with 1 ms (GTG) response time, and 98% of DCI-P3 coverage, along with DisplayHDR 600 support. It uses a full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 input and supports AMD FreeSync Pro. Lastly, there's the Mobiuz EX270M, which is the same 27-inch size, but with lower Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, the same 240 Hz refresh-rate and 1 ms response time, but with 99% sRGB coverage and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. This monitor packs a 2.1 speaker setup with 2.5 W front-channel speakers, and a 5 W subwoofer.

Kingston Exhibits its 5 Top Secure Storage Devices at CES
Kingston dominates the secure portable storage market with its IronKey brand of self-encrypting USB flash drives and portable SSDs. At the 2023 International CES, the company showed off its five top products from the IronKey brand. These include the IronKey Locker+ 50, the IronKey S1000, the IronKey Vault Privacy 50, the IronKey Keypad 200, and the IronKey Vault Privacy 80ES. The Locker+ 50 is an affordable secure encrypted flash drive with self-processing XTS-AES encryption and automatic cloud backup. It comes in capacities of up to 128 GB, and offers transfer rates of up to 145 MB/s reads with up to 115 MB/s writes, over 5 Gbps USB 3.1. The IronKey S1000 is a big step-up from the Locker+ 50, and features an on-device cryptochip for a self-contained root of trust, besides hardware-accelerated encryption without involving the host machine. It comes in capacities of up to 128 GB, and offers transfer rates of up to 230 MB/s reads, with up to 240 MB/s writes, leveraging 5 Gbps USB 3.1.
The Vault Privacy 50 series is usually what enterprises buy in bulk, with hardware-accelerated XTS-AES, and 256-bit AES. It can be had with USB type-A or type-C (Vault Privacy 50C), and comes in capacities of up to 128 GB, pushing data at up to 250 MB/s reads, with up to 180 MB/s writes. The Keypad 200 is one of the most recognizable of Kingston's IronKey products. It meets FIPS 140-3 Level 3 data-security standards, and a physical keypad that unlocks the device without having to use any software running on the host. It transfers at speeds of up to 145 MB/s reads with up to 115 MB/s writes. Lastly, there's the Vault Privacy 80ES, a 5 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 portable SSD that comes in capacities of up to 2 TB, a touchscreen-based on-device user-interface to lock/unlock without any software running on the host machine, and transfer rates of up to 250 MB/s.
