    Default Eutelsat W3B in curand pe orbita!

    Arianespace has announced details of the fourth Ariane 5 flight of 2010, with its launcher having completed the initial build-up at the Spaceport. This vehicle will carry Eutelsat’s W3B telecommunications satellite and the
    BSAT-3b relay platform for B-SAT Corporation, and is scheduled for launch on September 15.
    This latest heavy-lift vehicle was delivered to French Guiana aboard the MN Colibri, which is one of two roll-on/roll-off ships that transport components from Europe to the launch site in South America. The launcher hardware was transferred by road from the port of Pariacabo to the Spaceport.
    Arianespace is planning a total of six Ariane 5 flights during 2010, with three of these already performed and a fourth mission in advanced preparation for liftoff on September 15.

    Se pare ca va avea o durata scurta pe aceasta locatie. Cu engleza mea de balta inteleg ca la anu se va muta pe 7 grade est fiind inlocuit de w3c.

    Citat:

    The launch of the W3B and KA-SAT satellites are scheduled respectively for September and November 2010:
    • W3B: will be launched at 16 degrees East, where its initial mission will be to renew and double capacity available
    at this position in order to support the development of digital TV in Central and Eastern Europe and Frenchspeaking
    Indian Ocean islands, as well as open new resources for data services over Africa;

    The W3C and ATLANTIC™ BIRD 7 satellites are under construction with launches scheduled in fiscal year 2011-2012:
    • W3C will replace W3B satellite at 16 degrees East allowing the latter to be relocated at 7 degrees East where it will
    be collocated with the W3A satellite. This configuration will enable Eutelsat to offer significantly enhanced security
    from 7 degrees East for clients requesting this service, and to increase operational transponders at this
    neighbourhood by more than 50 per cent.;

    Default Upcoming launches

    W3B
    W3B will be based on the Thales Alenia Space 4000 platform. Due for launch on October 28, 2010, it will initially be located at 16° East.

    Designed for an operational lifetime of 15 years, W3B will offer significant flexibility to operate a wide range of services from TV broadcasting to professional data networks and broadband access, in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.

    Hosting over 350 TV digital channels in more than 17 languages, 16 degrees East is one of the leading orbital positions for broadcast in Central and Eastern Europe and, via its steerable beam, it is a prime video neighbourhood for the islands in the Indian Ocean. These markets are experiencing solid growth, in particular in Central and Eastern Europe where cable and satellite reception has grown at a double digit rate over the last four years.

    W3B will be replaced by W3C at 16 degrees East and will be relocated at 7 degrees East, where it will be collocated with the W3A satellite.

    Videotransmission of the launch:
    28th October:
    Start: 23:51 GMT
    Stop: 00:10 GMT on 29th October

    Watch it live:
