Noctua's Roadmap Update Confirms AIO CLC in Q2 2026
Noctua's upcoming [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] has finally received a firm release date: the second quarter of 2026. According to the Austrian company roadmap update, which received a September update, we can look forward to more updates soon. Firstly, we can anticipate the arrival of NF-A14x25 G2 chromax.black fans in the Q4 of this year, alongside NH-D15 G2 tower air cooler. Both of these products were originally scheduled for Q3, but Noctua made some final tweaks, and their availability is now expected in Q4. For Q1 in 2026, the company plans to bring the Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition chassis and the Pulsar Feinman Noctua Edition mouse.
However, the real star of the show is scheduled for Q2 of 2026, when Noctua plans to bring it to the masses. This cooler is based on an Asetek G8 V2 platform that's been heavily optimized by Noctua. Some of the innovations include a pump-noise absorber, SecuFirm 2+ retention module, an 80 mm fan attachment on the pump-block to cool the VRM and memory areas using the Coanda effect, and the inclusion of premium Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 (140 mm) or NF-A12x25 G2 (120 mm) fans, depending on the model. This was also planned for Q1 but has been pushed forward to Q2 as of now. As is the case with Noctua, product delays are a sign that the company is rigorously optimizing the product, so a slight delay will result in better quality, which enthusiasts are accustomed to.[Only registered and activated users can see links. NVIDIA's Export-Compliant B30A for China Priced at Roughly Twice the H
As NVIDIA acquired an export license for its "Hopper" H20 GPU, the company immediately prepared to ship a modified [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. Interestingly, sources close to Reuters note that the demand from Chinese companies is massive even for the older H20 GPU, despite Beijing regulators warning against the use of NVIDIA-supplied hardware in new data center buildouts. As H20 in China sells for around $10,000- $12,000, the new B30A will be priced at double that amount, around $20,000-$24,000, with the lower range possibly reserved for larger volume shipments. Sources also note that Chinese firms believe this is a good deal, given the performance and software compatibility that NVIDIA brings with its hardware.
Designed as a single-die design, it utilizes the same base die as the dual-die B300 and embeds a single one into the package, achieving half the performance to comply with export regulations. Based on the Blackwell Ultra (B300) numbers, the export-compliant single-die B30A would be expected to deliver roughly 7.5 PetaFLOPS FP4, 3.75 PetaFLOPS FP6/FP8, 1.875 PetaFLOPS FP16/BF16, and 0.94 PetaFLOPS at TF32, about half the peak throughput of the dual-die B300. Additionally, NVIDIA could generate a substantial amount of sales in the Chinese market, as rewriting the entire infrastructure to use Chinese domestic accelerators would require more time, which could significantly offset China's AI ambitions. Hence, while domestic accelerators mature in design and software, NVIDIA's GPUs are in everlasting demand. While the timeline for B30A GPU shipment is unknown, we expect to see the first Chinese AI labs getting their hands on these accelerators in the next few weeks.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Steam Frame Could Be Valve's Next-Generation Gaming Console
Valve's introduction of the Steam Deck has been a massive success in the handheld gaming market. However, we have long anticipated the return of the legendary Steam Machine, which has its road paved by the ecosystem support around the Steam Deck. According to United States Patent and Trademark Office submission, Valve has patented "Steam Frame" trademark that is reportedly "intended to cover the categories of computer hardware; computer networking hardware; computer peripherals; computer hardware and computer software for the reproduction, processing, and streaming of audio, video, data, text, and multimedia content." Additionally, another trademark filing also claims that Steam Frame "is intended to cover the categories of computer game consoles for recreational game playing; video game consoles; video game accessories, namely, controllers for video games."
All the evidence points to the Steam Frame being a standalone console designed to fulfill Valve's mission and execute the vision left behind by the Steam Machine. That means the Steam Frame will arrive as a standalone console unit, paired with a controller, and boot straight into SteamOS, with all optimizations configured just like the current Steam Deck. It would be interesting to see what hardware powers the Steam Frame, given that portability is not a priority and that more adequate cooling would be available for a standalone console. Valve could target higher frame rates on much higher resolutions. For now, all we can do is speculate about the future, so we need to see some more concrete information about the project soon.[Only registered and activated users can see links. AMD Uses Transformers-Inspired Codenames for RDNA 5 GPUs
AMD is reportedly preparing an unusual naming scheme for its upcoming RDNA 5 GPU generation, adopting character-driven codenames drawn from the Transformers series. Reports point to Alpha Trion, Ultra Magnus, and Orion Pax as internal handles that would cover both discrete Radeon GPUs and custom SoCs for console partners. Alpha Trion reportedly serves as the umbrella designation for the desktop gaming family, while Ultra Magnus and Orion Pax appear tied to the next Xbox and a PlayStation successor, respectively. This is a clear departure from AMD's historical conventions, where consumer gaming silicon has frequently used aquatic-themed names, while data-center accelerators tended toward star-inspired designations. Generally, RDNA 5 / UDNA designs are expected in 2026, and further information may emerge around major industry events such as CES or Computex. In the meantime, everyone is monitoring open-source driver repositories, firmware commits, and partner disclosures for further references.[Only registered and activated users can see links. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 6000 PRO Plagued by the Virtualization
NVIDIA's top-end consumer GPU, the GeForce RTX 5090, and top-of-the-line ProViz SKU, the RTX 6000 PRO, have been plagued by a new virtualization bug. According to developers at CloudRift, who are creating a GPU cloud for AI developers, they have encountered a specific bug that renders the RTX 5090 and RTX PRO 6000 completely unresponsive. After a few days or weeks of constant usage, the GPU virtual machine can completely freeze without a sign of responsiveness. This occurs at random times, with no clear indication of why. The team has tested multiple GPUs, including the H100, B200, and older RTX 4090 models, all of which showed no issues. Not even the highest-performing server-grade B200 GPU from the "Blackwell" family experiences these issues, but consumer and ProViz SKUs do.
Behind the scenes, a more technical approach explains the process of locking the GPU. When a GPU is handed off to a virtual machine via KVM and VFIO, the host performs a PCIe function-level reset (FLR) as part of the normal cleanup process when the VM stops or the device is moved. Instead of coming back online after that reset, the card becomes unresponsive. The kernel times out and reports the failure with the message "not ready 65535ms after FLR; giving up." Hence, the only point of failure is the GPU itself, and CloudRift has even issued a $1,000 bug bounty for anyone who can resolve the issue.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Qualcomm CEO: Intel Foundry Not Ready Yet, But Shows Promise
Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, in an interview with Bloomberg Tech, claimed that Intel Foundry isn't yet suitable for its use case, but there is significant potential in the new nodes. According to the CEO, "Intel is not an option today," adding that "We would like Intel to be an option." The CEO discussed how the current Intel Foundry node, likely referring to Intel 18A, is not a suitable option for their mobile chips. However, the primary selling point of the vanilla 18A node isn't mobile, low-power SoCs, but rather mid-range and high-power solutions. "We design all of our chips assuming there's a battery on the other side, not plugged into the wall," said Amon, when asked about the design of their chips and their recent collaboration with German automaker BMW.
Qualcomm will continue to source its low-power SoC from TSMC and Samsung, both of which are skilled in mobile designs. For Intel, most customer attention is drawn to the enhanced 18A nodes, specifically 18A-P, scheduled for rollout in 2026, and 18A-PT, targeted for 2028. This, along with Intel 14A, will be a turning point for the foundry, which seeks to attract customers, including Qualcomm, with these improved nodes. US-based companies are constantly evaluating Intel Foundry services, and over time, these services are becoming increasingly attractive in areas such as packaging, not just advanced manufacturing. Still, the primary goal of Intel Foundry is leading-edge node production, so when/if customers like Qualcomm come, they will need to be ready with satisfying yield and performance figures.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Samsung's GDDR6 Modules Run 10°C Cooler Than SK Hynix, Claims GPU AIB
XFX has officially published various performance figures claiming that its custom GPUs run better with Samsung GDDR6 memory, rather than SK Hynix modules. Usually, add-in-board (AIB) partners receive the GPU die sold as a kit with memory. However, AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel typically source their memory modules from various partners, including Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron. GPU AIBs can sometimes prioritize a single memory maker, and this time it looks like Samsung GDDR6 memory modules are turning out to be a much better design for the XFX GPUs. "In terms of hardware, memory power consumption and heat dissipation also directly impact overall stability. Previously, the XFX 9060 XT used Hynix memory, but this time, the XFX 9060XT V3 has switched to Samsung memory. Not only is the GPU cooler, but its DDR temperature is 10°C lower than the Hynix version" says XFX on BiliBili.
The performance comparisons show that Samsung's GDDR6 memory runs at 77°C, while the SK Hynix modules run at 10°C hotter, 87°C. Switching to Samsung-made modules also brings down the total board consumption to 183 W, down from 207 W with SK Hynix. This is 24 W of heat, which the cooler system picks up, resulting in a lower fan speed. In contrast, the Samsung version spun the fans at 1461 RPM, while the SK Hynix version spun at 1814 RPM. This means that the overall GPU system is being more stable, generally more effective, prevents VRAM downclocks, and has higher stability. Interestingly, the choice of Samsung memory increases the GPU die temperature by 3°C, indicating that the memory controller on the die is likely operating at a higher intensity, or the lower fan speed resulted in less cooling. While we await more details and independent testing, it is interesting to see just how much a memory vendor choice can impact the overall GPU performance. There is little information on XFX 9060 XT V3 design, but it is already available in China.[Only registered and activated users can see links.
