I understand Your point of view but I propose Let's me think about the problem now together!

Inside the BRUTUS (where we can watch & record TV channels) we have 3 (really 2) softcams:

1. CCcam
2. Two version of NewcamD

1. CCcam: in the last 4 firmware versions the Cccam client was unuseable. The last working Cccam client is in the 20.04 fw version (this version also has some problems but the function acceptable).

But You're true, really hasn't any limitation of the number of sharing in CCcam.

2. NewcamD: in all fw versions works properly. But You're again true: there is a limitation in NewcamD server (1 server can share only 32 CAIDs). And the NewcamD (server) configuration is very difficult, this is also true!

But in practice we may have 10 NewcamD server connections so we can watch 320 CAID's (I haven't enough time so I watch only one CAID...I think You now which is this!)!

(I've got 2 CCcam server connections: the first shows ~50, the second shows ~650-700 "rows" in the sharing information on the WEBIF of CCcam client. But I aggregated these lines in Excel - over the CAID - and I was very suprised: this ~750 share lines in fact only 42 CAID's! This allocate only 2 NewcamD server connections!!!)

And one other very interesting property of OSCAM: the OSCAM fully recalculate the Cccam "Uphops" and "Maxdown" properties (If You don't belive me please check this in OSCAM! I get lot of shares with 0 value in "Maxdown" property from my CCcam servers but I can reshare these in OSCAM to Cccam client as well to NewcamD client!!!)! I think this is one newer argument why we use the OSCAM instead of CCcam (where we lose 1 hop from "Downshare").

Conclusion:
After all, I think we have only one choice: we have to use the OSCAM (till the E2 arrive - if it arrive some day...).

And some other point of view what I forgotten in my previous message:

1. We can use in OSCAM a load-balancer between the defined servers (readers in OSCAM terminology). This function is very useful if We have more than one server connection.

2. We can also use in OSCAM (if the load-balancer is enabled) the CW check function (the OSCAM send the request all servers and compare the answers, do all answers are equal?) which also a very useful function.

3. The OSCAM WEBIF stable, very useful (we can configure all property from it) and works properly on the Alligator (instead of CCcam WEBIF).

@szirog - Ok ! I understant your point of wiew ! mainly you have right in
your demonstration ... but ...

1) the problem is not to "trick" the real hop count ! ... over hop=2 Alligator
CCcam client is practical unuseable even in 20.04
2)the method you are proposing is too complex to be intended for general use
3) Alligator have serious problems of algorytm ... NDS specialy ! even with
local card NDS is not OK ! N3 also ...

The method we have in mind comes from a practical observation ... I used
Linkey ( serial to ethernet CS dongle ) on Alligator disabling FW CS support ...
and choosing SSSP on COM port ...the result was impressing ! Alligator acts
perfectly ... so why not using this method "replacing" Linkey with Oscam and
connecting them via pseudo COM ?
Anyway your analyse is OK ! tnks for your contribution !

You're true: my solution doesn't contain the problem of local cards...but gives a solution to the poor & unstable CCcam client problem.

(Really I've got an idea: why don't we start the OSCAM before the BRUTUS app? I can't try this because I haven't any local card...but may is this works?)

What's Your opinion when will be available the E2?

On my oppinion there is no realistic term for E2 ! the koreeans seems not
interested in E2 ...or not able to be involved in such a project witch cannot
bring any commercial advantage ... such a project need the support of
somme profesionals in writting neccesary drivers code ( mainly ...tunner)
and the E2 API witch is Alligator specific ! I've tryed to assembly such a
team ... and in short time I found myself allone ...without any logistic support
so I declared this subject as ... dead all right !

The ideea is to remove entirely Alligator CCcam client support and to replace him
with Oscam ! this is happenigng when you chose SSSP on COM !!! just must connect
somehow Oscam serial interface ... our friend Zildan belive this is possible !

Am facut un pachetel cu oscamul lui Szirog si pachetul CCcam lui zidan cu server ftp inclus pentru panthera. S-ar putea sa mearga shi pe Alligator....

Probe ceva?

Pai nu prea se vad lucruri bune ... cel putin canale ND$ pare sa nu deschida deloc
...este vb de SKYIT !!! altele merge ...dar mergeau si pana acum ! nu am facut
un test de durata dar la ora asta ( 7h00m) toate ar trebui sa mearga uns ...
si nu este asa ! sa vedem ce s-arata dupa teste mai ample ..astept si alte pareri ...

Daca se blocheaza decodarea pe un canal ...mai pleaca doar cu reconect de server
chiar daca schimbi pe ceva care in mod normal se decodeaza ....

Am incercat sa editez lista de canale din Alligator cu STBLink Editor 3, dar in momentul cand vreau sa salvez modificarile facute primesc urmatoarea eroare: "Cannot save file because wrong GPOS data" si tot ce am modificat se duce pe apa sambetei.
Vreo idee de unde poate proveni eroarea?
