Gearbox Publishing and Gunfire Games have announced Remnant II, the sequel to the best-selling game Remnant: From the Ashes, a third-person action-survival shooter that pits the last remnants of humanity against the harrowing forces of evil.<br />

Remnant II evolves the co-op survival shooter with new unseen worlds filled with deadly surprises and encounters. Join the battle to save humanity in a dynamically generated world filled with branching quest lines, unique loot, and overwhelming odds that encourage exploration and replayability either alone or in three-person co-op. Gigabyte's and Sapphire's Radeon RX 7900-series Cards Pictured
Courtesy of VideoCardz, we now know what Gigabyte's and Sapphire's upcoming Radeon RX 7900-series cards will look like. Gigabyte will offer at least two different custom designed models, with the Aorus Elite being the higher-end one and the Gaming OC being the mainstream one. Both appear to come in RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT SKUs. The Aorus Elite is said to be a 3.5-slot card sporting three 8-pin power connectors, whereas the Gaming OC is a 2.5-slot card with two 8-pin power connectors.<br />

The Sapphire card in question is the Nitro+ which has been given a design overhaul compared to the Radeon RX 6000-series cards and it's quite a bright card thanks to its silver coloured shroud. We're once again looking at a massive cooler here, which is wider than three slots, but maybe not quite 3.5-slots wide. Unsurprisingly, Sapphire has kitted out the card with three 8-pin power connectors. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Ti Detailed Specs Sheet Leaks
It turns out that NVIDIA has not one, but two new GeForce RTX 40-series "Ada" SKUs on the anvil this January. One of these is the RTX 4070 Ti, which we know well to be a rebranding of the RTX 4080 12 GB in the face of backlash that forced NVIDIA to "<a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/299859/nvidia-cancels-geforce-rtx-4080-12gb-to-relaunch-it-with-a-different-name" target="_blank">unlaunch</a>" it. The other as it turns out, is the RTX 4070, with an interesting set of specifications. Based on the same <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/301618/nvidia-4nm-ad104-ada-silicon-pictured-half-the-die-area-of-ad102" target="_blank">4 nm AD104 silicon</a> as the RTX 4070 Ti, the new RTX 4070 is significantly cut down. NVIDIA enabled 46 out of 60 streaming multiprocessors (SM) physically present on the silicon, which yield 5,888 CUDA cores—the same count as the previous-gen RTX 3070, when compared to the 7,680 that the maxed-out RTX 4070 Ti enjoys.<br />

The GeForce RTX 4070, besides 5,888 CUDA cores, gets 46 RT cores, 184 Tensor cores, 184 TMUs, and a reduced ROP count of 64, compared to 80 of the RTX 4070 Ti. The memory configuration remains the same as the RTX 4070 Ti, with 12 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory across the chip's 192-bit memory interface, working out to 504 GB/s of memory bandwidth. (PR) FTC Seeks to Block Microsoft's Acquisition of Activision Blizzard
The Federal Trade Commission is seeking to block technology giant Microsoft Corp. from acquiring leading video game developer Activision Blizzard, Inc. and its blockbuster gaming franchises such as Call of Duty, alleging that the $69 billion deal, Microsoft's largest ever and the largest ever in the video gaming industry, would enable Microsoft to suppress competitors to its Xbox gaming consoles and its rapidly growing subscription content and cloud-gaming business.<br />
<br />
In a complaint issued today, the FTC pointed to Microsoft's record of acquiring and using valuable gaming content to suppress competition from rival consoles, including its acquisition of ZeniMax, parent company of Bethesda Softworks (a well-known game developer). Intel Core i9-13900KS Confirmed with 150W Base Power and 6 GHz Boost Speed
Intel is expanding its 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" desktop processor family with a number of new SKUs, led by the new flagship Core i9-13900KS. A leaked company slide confirmed the upper-end SKUs' specs. Led from the top, the new i9-13900KS packs the same 8P+16E (8 performance cores + 16 efficiency cores) configuration as the i9-13900K. It has a slightly higher 3.20 GHz base frequency compared to the 3.00 GHz of the i9-13900K, but boosts all the way up to 6.00 GHz, compared to 5.80 GHz of the i9-13900K. To ensure improved boost frequency residency, Intel bumped up the processor base power value from 125 W to 150 W, while leaving the maximum turbo power value untouched at 253 W. <br />
<br />
We also see the specs of the non-K Core i9-13900 and Core i7-13700, which offer the same 8P+16E and 8P+8E core-configs as the i9-13900K and i9-13700K, respectively, but without unlocked multipliers. The i9-13900 ticks at 2.00 GHz with 5.60 GHz maximum turbo frequency, whereas the i7-13700 does 2.10 GHz base, with up to 5.20 GHz boost, compared to 3.40 GHz base and 5.40 GHz boost of the i7-13700K. As "locked" chips both have lower processor base power values of just 65 W, and maximum turbo power values of 219 W. Both these chips could include a cooling solution in the box, which is very likely the <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/290115/intel-laminar-rh1-alder-lake-s-stock-cooler-pictured" target="_blank">Laminar RH1 stock cooler</a> that company includes with the i9-12900 and i9-12700. CAES, a leader in advanced mission-critical electronics for aerospace and defense, has announced that its GR740 quad-core LEON4FT SPARC V8 Microprocessor has been launched onboard the Rashid Rover on December 11 and is now heading to the moon. The Rashid Rover was developed by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center and is traveling to the moon onboard the Mission 1 lunar lander as part of the HAKUTO-R lunar exploration program. The mission of the four-wheel rover, weighing only 10 kilograms or 22 pounds, will last one lunar day, or 14 Earth days. Its objective is to study the properties of lunar soil, the petrography and geology of the moon, dust movement, and the lunar surface plasma condition and photoelectron sheath.<br />

The GR740 Microprocessor is embedded in the Camera Interface Board (CIB) that is used to control the four cameras onboard the Rashid Rover through an embedded SpaceWire router switch. The GR740 board has been developed by CAES together with AAC Clyde Space. According to the well-known hardware leaker @momomo_us, HP is preparing the launch of its next-generation Omen 17 gaming laptops. And with a new generation of chips coming to consumers, HP accidentally made some information about laptop SKUs public. Four models are listed, and they represent a combination of Intel's 13th-generation Raptor Lake mobile processors with NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace RTX 40 series graphics cards for the mobile/laptop sector. The four SKUs are: CM2007NQ/CM2005NQ with Core i7-13700HX & RTX 4060 8 GB; CM2001NQ with Core i7-13700HX & RTX 4070 8 GB; CK2007NQ/CK2004NQ with Core i7-13700HX & RTX 4080 12 GB; CK2001NQ with Core i7-13700HX & RTX 4090 16 GB. <br />

The most exciting find here is the appearance of the xx90 series in the mobile/laptop form factor, which has not been the case before. The GeForce RTX 4090 laptop edition is supposedly equipped with 16 GB of VRAM, and the GPU SKU should be a cut-down version of AD102 GPU adjusted for power and clock constraints so it can run within a reasonable TDP. AMD Allegedly Has 200,000 Radeon RX 7900 Series GPUs for Launch Day
AMD is preparing the launch of the Radeon RX 7900 series of graphics cards for December 13th. And, of course, with recent launches being coated in uncertainty regarding availability, we are getting more rumors about what the availability could look like. According to Kyle Bennett, founder of HardOCP, we have information that AMD is allegedly preparing 200,000 Radeon RX 7900 SKUs for launch day. If the information is truthful, among the 200,000 launch-day SKUs, there should be 30,000 Made-by-AMD (MBA) cards, while the rest are AIB partner cards. This number indicates that AMD's market research has shown that there will be a great demand for these new GPUs and that the scarcity problem should be long gone.<br />

A few days ago, we reported that the availability of the new AMD Radeon generation <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/301824/amd-radeon-rx-7900-rdna3-gpu-launch-could-face-scarcity-china-loses-reference-card-privilege" target="_blank">is reportedly scarce</a>, with Germany receiving only 3,000 MBA designs and the rest of the EMEA region getting only 7,000 MBA SKUs as well. With today's rumor going around, we would like to know if this is correct and if more SKUs will circulate. America's region could receive most of the MBA designs, and AIB partners will take care of other regions. Powered by Intel Celeron dual-core processors, the series includes the 2-bay TS-262 and 4-bay TS-462 models. First Alleged AMD Radeon RX 7900-series Benchmarks Leaked
With only a couple of days to go until the AMD RX 7900-series benchmarks go live, some alleged benchmarks from both the RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT have leaked on Twitter. The two cards are being compared to a NVIDIA RTX 4080 card in no less than seven different game titles, all running at 4K resolution. The games are God of War, Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watchdogs Legion, Red Dead Redemption 2, Doom Eternal and Horizon Zero Dawn. The cards were tested on a system with a Core i9-12900K CPU which was paired with 32 GB of RAM of unknown type. <br />

It's too early to draw any real conclusions from this test, but in general, the RX 7900 XTX comes out on top, ahead of the RTX 4080, so no surprises here. The RX 7900 XT is either tied with the RTX 4080 or a fair bit slower, with the exception being Red Dead Redemption 2, where the RTX 4080 is the slowest card, although it also appears to have some issues, since the one percent lows are hitting 2 FPS. Soon, the reviews will be out and everything will become more clear, but it appears that AMD's RX 7900 XTX will give NVIDIA's RTX 4080 a run for its money, if these benchmarks are anything to go by. <br />

Sabrent Launches Rocket NVMe SSD in M.2 2230 Form Factor for Steam Deck Compatibility
For those looking at upgrading—or adding an SSD—to their Steam Deck, there's now a new option from Sabrent. The company has launched an M.2 2230 sized version of its Rocket SSD that will be available in sizes of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. As one would expect, due to the form factor, we're looking at DRAM-less drives. Sabrent has gone with Phison's E21T controller and it has been paired with Micron's B47R, 176-layer NAND. <br />
<br />
In other words, we're not talking about a high-performance drive here, but that might be a good thing as well, since it'll produce less heat, which should prevent drive throttling in the tiny space available inside the Steam Deck. Sabrent rates the drives as having a sequential read speed of up to 5,000 MB/s and a sequential write speed of up to 4,300 MB/s. The read IOPS are rated at up to 450K, with the write IOPS at up to 920K, which once again varies between the drive sizes. The 512 GB drive appears to have the overall best performance. The drives are rated for 200, 300 and 600 TBW and come with a five year warranty. PowerColor Reveals the Red Devil 7900-series
<a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/301273/powercolor-shows-off-the-radeon-rx-7900-red-devil-on-social-media" target="_blank">Three weeks ago</a>, PowerColor teased its Radeon RX 7900-series Red Devil cards on social media, but now the company has revealed more details of its upcoming cards. Oddly enough, PowerColor hasn't gone for RGB fans here, unlike its <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/301709/powercolor-announces-its-hellhound-7900-series-graphics-cards" target="_blank">Hellhound cards</a>, although the Red Devil cards do have a lot of RGB accents. A unique, if somewhat pointless feature is that the Red Devil cards come with a removable backplate cover, so you can choose to have a "plain" metal backplate, or a rather unusual looking backplate that appears to be made mostly out of plastic. <br />
<br />
As with the Hellhound cards, PowerColour has used a 14-layer PCB for the Red Devil cards, but has added a 21st VRM for some reason, as the Hellhound cards "only" have 20 VRMs. The heatsinks with eight heatpipes appear to be nigh on identical to the one used on the Hellhound cards. PowerColour has also installed a side-mounted metal bracket to help prevent GPU sag, but it appears as if the bracket only reaches half way down the length of the card. The Red Devil cards have three 8-pin power connectors. Global video game publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment has revealed a new partnership to adapt series creator Mike Mignola's Hellboy franchise, published by Dark Horse Comics. Developed by Upstream Arcade, Hellboy Web of Wyrd is an upcoming roguelite action-adventure game in development for all major gaming consoles and PC. It features an original storyline crafted in collaboration with Mignola, as well as the renowned voice talents of Lance Reddick as Hellboy himself. Mignola has also designed the game's unique key art.<br />

PNY GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Specifications Leak, Similar to the Canceled RTX 4080 12 GB Edition
VideoCardz has obtained images and specifications of PNY's two upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti models. According to the latest leak, these GPUs are equipped with 7680 CUDA cores and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory. This configuration resembles the <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4080-12-gb.c3932" target="_blank">canceled GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB edition card</a>, which confirms that NVIDIA will rebrand it under the RTX 4070 Ti naming scheme. PNY has prepared GeForce RTX 4070 Ti XLR8 VERTO and VERTO GPUs, with the difference in cooler design and applied factory overclocking. The XLR8 version bears the same cooler as the RTX 4080 XRL8 card, adapted for the RTX 4070 Ti GPU SKU. This design should naturally offer greater overclocking performance than the regular VERTO SKU.<br />

These sanctions are designed to restrict the transfer of specific technologies and sensitive information to Chinese entities, particularly those with ties to the Chinese military or government. The primary motivation behind these sanctions is to protect American national security interests, as well as to protect American companies from unfair competition. According to Financial Times, we have information that Chinese tech Giant, Alibaba, can not access Arm licenses for Neoverse V1 technology. Generally, the technology group where Neoverse V-series falls in is called <a rel="nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wassenaar_Arrangement" target="_blank">Wassenaar</a> -- multilateral export control regime (MECR) with 42 participating states. This agreement prohibits the sale of technology that could be used for military purposes.<br />

Intel Plans "Raptor Lake Refresh" Core Desktop Processors for Q3-2023, "Sapphire Rapids 64L" HEDT in Q1
Intel is planning to refresh its desktop processor product stack with new "Raptor Lake Refresh" SKUs in Q3-2023, according to a leaked roadmap. At this point it's unclear if these are just new SKUs within the 13th Gen Core desktop product stack, or if they'll form the 14th Gen Core family, much in the same way as "Coffee Lake Refresh" formed the 9th Gen Core, replacing the 8th Gen Core "Coffee Lake." At this point we don't know what constitutes "Raptor Lake Refresh," but it provides Intel's product managers with the opportunity to increase CPU core-counts across the product stack without needing a new silicon (the Raptor Lake silicon has 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores), slightly higher clock-speeds, and other improvements. We don't know if this will herald a new CPU socket or platform at this point, either.<br />

The most interesting item in this leaked roadmap slide has to be the reference to the "mainstream workstation" segment, with products in the 250 W TDP bracket. The so-called "Sapphire Rapids 64L" could be a cut-down version of the "Sapphire Rapids" enterprise processor on a new socket, backed by the Intel W790 chipset. The "64L" part of the codename could be a reference to its PCIe Gen 5 lane count of 64, which is less than the 112 available to the full "Sapphire Rapids" silicon in its W-3400 product-stack. It's unclear if these processors feature a Core X branding like their predecessors from the "Cascade Lake-X" family, or Xeon W. In a bid to clear out inventories of its Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics card inventory constipating its supply-chain, AMD decided to bundle "The Callisto Protocol" and "Dead Island 2" with these graphics cards, for a promotion period between February 4, 2023 and March 4, 2023. Buyers of the Radeon RX 6600, RX 6600 XT, RX 6650 XT, RX 6700, RX 6700 XT, RX 6750 XT, RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, RX 6900 XT, and RX 6950 XT get both games on new purchases; whereas just "Dead Island 2" is bundled with the RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT. Both are fairly recently launched AAA titles. "The Callisto Protocol" is a story-driven survival horror, while "Dead Island 2" is an online multiplayer zombie-apocalypse shooter. The worldwide semiconductor industry is projected to invest more than $500 billion in 84 volume chipmaking facilities starting construction from 2021 to 2023, with segments including automotive and high-performance computing fueling the spending increases, SEMI announced today in its latest quarterly World Fab Forecast report. The projected growth in global factory count includes a record high 33 new semiconductor manufacturing facilities starting construction this year and 28 more in 2023.<br />

(PR) YMTC Could Abandon Market for 3D NAND Flash by 2024 Following US
Global market intelligence firm TrendForce states that Chinese memory manufacturer YMTC is now at risk of exiting the market for 3D NAND Flash products by 2024 following its formal placement on the Entity List of the US Commerce Department on December 15. From this point forward, the Commerce Department will be reviewing and approving individual transactions related to the exportation, re-exportation, and sales of equipment, technologies, and other related goods from the US to YMTC. With acquisitions of equipment parts and technical support from its US partners becoming very difficult and prolonged, YMTC is going to be severely constrained from raising its bit output. Hence, its foothold on the market for 3D NAND Flash products is expected to weaken as time goes by.<br />

TrendForce points out that without the support of the key equipment providers, YMTC is now facing a huge technical obstacle in the development of its latest 3D NAND Flash technology known as Xtacking 3.0. In particular, raising yield rate for the 128L and 232L processes is going to be extremely challenging for the Chinese memory manufacturer. Taking account of this latest escalation in the US-China trade dispute, TrendForce has further corrected down its projections on YMTC's supply bit growth rate and the total NAND Flash supply bit growth rate for next year. YMTC supply bits were initially forecasted to grow by 60% YoY for 2023. However, there was a massive downward correction that put its growth rate at just 18%. Biostar's B760A Silver Motherboard Leaks
It would appear that motherboards based on the upcoming Intel B760 chipset aren't much of a secret, as even online price comparison sites are now starting to post details about the upcoming models. German Geizhals has posted details about Biostars B760A Silver motherboard and although the site doesn't have pictures of the board, it does provide a drawing from what appears to be the manual. As this is an entry level model, there isn't too much to get excited about, but it appears to be a decent enough board overall.<br />

The B760A Silver sports four DDR5 DIMM slots, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, as well as three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs and an M.2 for an optional Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card. Other features include an HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.2 port around the back, as well as 2.5 Gbps Ethernet and a 10 Gbps USB-C port. The board has a front header for another 10 Gbps USB-C port, but there's no support for a 20 Gbps USB-C port. Biostar has at least not been stingy with fan headers, as a total of six are spread out around the board and for those that like RGB lights, there are also three ARGB headers. MSI's B760 MAG Tomahawk Pictured Ahead of Official Launch
Intel is expected to launch the B760 chipset alongside a slew of more 13th gen Core CPUs at CES in January, but already details of upcoming motherboards are starting to appear. We've already seen some details about <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/301633/gigabytes-b760-aorus-elite-makes-an-early-appearance" target="_blank">Gigabyte's B760 Aorus Elite</a> and now some very detailed pictures of MSI's upcoming B760 MAG Tomahawk have made an appearance on VideoCardz. The board is a spitting image of its B660 predecessor in terms of layout, but there appear to be some minor changes in terms of header placement.<br />

MSI has also changed the colour scheme for all black to black with some white highlights. The rear I/O cover appears to have changed marginally, but even the heatsinks appear to be nigh on identical to the previous model. The pictures are of the DDR4 version, but there will apparently be a DDR5 version as well of this SKU from MSI. (PR) Total Revenue of Global Top 10 IC Design Houses for 3Q22 Showed QoQ Drop of 5.3%; Broadcom Overtaking NVIDIA and AMD
Global market intelligence firm TrendForce reports that the revenue generation momentum of the global IC design industry slowed down in 3Q22. The main factors behind this development were the Russia-Ukraine military conflict, the recent COVID-19 lockdowns in China, the ongoing inflation, and clients undergoing inventory corrections. The total revenue of the global top 10 IC design houses came to US$37.38 billion for 3Q22, showing a QoQ decline of 5.3%. Qualcomm remained first place in the ranking of the global top 10 IC design houses by revenue for 3Q22. Broadcom returned to second place by overtaking NVIDIA and AMD, who slipped to third and fourth respectively due to weakening demand for PCs and cryptocurrency mining machines.<br />

Regarding US-based IC design houses that were in the top 10 group for 3Q22, Qualcomm recorded a QoQ increase for the sales of smartphone SoCs and 5G modem chips. It also made gains in the automotive electronics market by expanding its collaborations with partners in the automotive industry. As a result, Qualcomm's 3Q22 revenue figures for mobile and automotive offerings reflected QoQ increases of 6.8% and 22.0% respectively. The revenue growth of these two major product categories offset the marginal decline in the revenue for RF front-end chips. Qualcomm's IC design revenue as a whole climbed up by 5.6% QoQ to US$9.90 billion for 3Q22. Netac Develops DDR5-8000 Memory Based on SK Hynix A-Die
Netac, a Chinese maker of memory and storage devices, has developed DDR5 memory modules with impressive speeds. The company has used SK Hynix A-type dies to create DDR5 memory with up to 8000 MT/s rates. With incredible speeds comes significant latency, whereas the DDR5-8000 memory kit comes with a CAS latency of 38-48-48-128. Netac has determined that these DRAM modules require as much as 1.5 Volts to power it. The base kit starts at 6000 MT/s, with 6200/6600/7200/7600 and 8000 MT/s variations mentioned above. Available in silver and black, these memory modules are equipped with an ARGB strip at the top that works with every RGB control software of motherboard makers.<br />

PNY GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Specifications Leak, Similar to the Canceled RTX 4080 12 GB Edition
VideoCardz has obtained images and specifications of PNY's two upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti models. According to the latest leak, these GPUs are equipped with 7680 CUDA cores and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory. This configuration resembles the <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4080-12-gb.c3932" target="_blank">canceled GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB edition card</a>, which confirms that NVIDIA will rebrand it under the RTX 4070 Ti naming scheme. PNY has prepared GeForce RTX 4070 Ti XLR8 VERTO and VERTO GPUs, with the difference in cooler design and applied factory overclocking. The XLR8 version bears the same cooler as the RTX 4080 XRL8 card, adapted for the RTX 4070 Ti GPU SKU. This design should naturally offer greater overclocking performance than the regular VERTO SKU.<br />

The render below looks like the 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector remains on these cards and that PNY has not swapped it for another solution. The primary motivation behind these sanctions is to protect American national security interests, as well as to protect American companies from unfair competition. According to Financial Times, we have information that Chinese tech Giant, Alibaba, can not access Arm licenses for Neoverse V1 technology. Generally, the technology group where Neoverse V-series falls in is called <a rel="nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wassenaar_Arrangement" target="_blank">Wassenaar</a> -- multilateral export control regime (MECR) with 42 participating states. This agreement prohibits the sale of technology that could be used for military purposes.<br />

The US argues that Arm's Neoverse V1 IP is not only a product from UK's Arm but a design made in the US as well, meaning that it is a US technology. Since Alibaba's T-Head group responsible for designing processors that go into Alibaba's cloud services can not use Neoverse V1, it has to look for alternative solutions. The Neoverse V1 and V2 can not be sold in China, while Neoverse N1 and N2 can. Alibaba's T-Head engineer argued, "We feel that the western world sees us as second-class people. NVIDIA is Ending GameStream Feature for its Shield TV Products
Come mid-February 2023, NVIDIA will be ending its GameStream feature on its Shield TV products. The GameStream feature has allowed owners of the Shield TV to stream games from their PC to their Shield TV. That said, this would limit users to games found on Steam, which doesn't seem like a great compromise. Biostar's B760A Silver Motherboard Leaks
It would appear that motherboards based on the upcoming Intel B760 chipset aren't much of a secret, as even online price comparison sites are now starting to post details about the upcoming models. German Geizhals has posted details about Biostars B760A Silver motherboard and although the site doesn't have pictures of the board, it does provide a drawing from what appears to be the manual. As this is an entry level model, there isn't too much to get excited about, but it appears to be a decent enough board overall.<br />

The B760A Silver sports four DDR5 DIMM slots, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, as well as three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs and an M.2 for an optional Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card. Other features include an HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.2 port around the back, as well as 2.5 Gbps Ethernet and a 10 Gbps USB-C port. The board has a front header for another 10 Gbps USB-C port, but there's no support for a 20 Gbps USB-C port. Biostar has at least not been stingy with fan headers, as a total of six are spread out around the board and for those that like RGB lights, there are also three ARGB headers. MSI's B760 MAG Tomahawk Pictured Ahead of Official Launch
Intel is expected to launch the B760 chipset alongside a slew of more 13th gen Core CPUs at CES in January, but already details of upcoming motherboards are starting to appear. We've already seen some details about <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/301633/gigabytes-b760-aorus-elite-makes-an-early-appearance" target="_blank">Gigabyte's B760 Aorus Elite</a> and now some very detailed pictures of MSI's upcoming B760 MAG Tomahawk have made an appearance on VideoCardz. The board is a spitting image of its B660 predecessor in terms of layout, but there appear to be some minor changes in terms of header placement.<br />

MSI has also changed the colour scheme for all black to black with some white highlights. The rear I/O cover appears to have changed marginally, but even the heatsinks appear to be nigh on identical to the previous model. The pictures are of the DDR4 version, but there will apparently be a DDR5 version as well of this SKU from MSI. (PR) Total Revenue of Global Top 10 IC Design Houses for 3Q22 Showed QoQ Drop of 5.3%; Broadcom Overtaking NVIDIA and AMD
Global market intelligence firm TrendForce reports that the revenue generation momentum of the global IC design industry slowed down in 3Q22. The main factors behind this development were the Russia-Ukraine military conflict, the recent COVID-19 lockdowns in China, the ongoing inflation, and clients undergoing inventory corrections. The total revenue of the global top 10 IC design houses came to US$37.38 billion for 3Q22, showing a QoQ decline of 5.3%. Qualcomm remained first place in the ranking of the global top 10 IC design houses by revenue for 3Q22. Broadcom returned to second place by overtaking NVIDIA and AMD, who slipped to third and fourth respectively due to weakening demand for PCs and cryptocurrency mining machines.<br />

Regarding US-based IC design houses that were in the top 10 group for 3Q22, Qualcomm recorded a QoQ increase for the sales of smartphone SoCs and 5G modem chips. It also made gains in the automotive electronics market by expanding its collaborations with partners in the automotive industry. As a result, Qualcomm's 3Q22 revenue figures for mobile and automotive offerings reflected QoQ increases of 6.8% and 22.0% respectively. The revenue growth of these two major product categories offset the marginal decline in the revenue for RF front-end chips. Qualcomm's IC design revenue as a whole climbed up by 5.6% QoQ to US$9.90 billion for 3Q22. Netac Develops DDR5-8000 Memory Based on SK Hynix A-Die
Netac, a Chinese maker of memory and storage devices, has developed DDR5 memory modules with impressive speeds. The company has used SK Hynix A-type dies to create DDR5 memory with up to 8000 MT/s rates. With incredible speeds comes significant latency, whereas the DDR5-8000 memory kit comes with a CAS latency of 38-48-48-128. Netac has determined that these DRAM modules require as much as 1.5 Volts to power it. The base kit starts at 6000 MT/s, with 6200/6600/7200/7600 and 8000 MT/s variations mentioned above. Available in silver and black, these memory modules are equipped with an ARGB strip at the top that works with every RGB control software of motherboard makers.<br />

PNY GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Specifications Leak, Similar to the Canceled RTX 4080 12 GB Edition
VideoCardz has obtained images and specifications of PNY's two upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti models. According to the latest leak, these GPUs are equipped with 7680 CUDA cores and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory. This configuration resembles the <a href="https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4080-12-gb.c3932" target="_blank">canceled GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB edition card</a>, which confirms that NVIDIA will rebrand it under the RTX 4070 Ti naming scheme. PNY has prepared GeForce RTX 4070 Ti XLR8 VERTO and VERTO GPUs, with the difference in cooler design and applied factory overclocking. The XLR8 version bears the same cooler as the RTX 4080 XRL8 card, adapted for the RTX 4070 Ti GPU SKU. This design should naturally offer greater overclocking performance than the regular VERTO SKU.<br />

The render below looks like the 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector remains on these cards and that PNY has not swapped it for another solution. Export Regulations Hinder China's Plans for Custom Arm-Based Processors
The United States has recently imposed several sanctions on technology exports to China. These sanctions are designed to restrict the transfer of specific technologies and sensitive information to Chinese entities, particularly those with ties to the Chinese military or government. The primary motivation behind these sanctions is to protect American national security interests, as well as to protect American companies from unfair competition. According to Financial Times, we have information that Chinese tech Giant, Alibaba, can not access Arm licenses for Neoverse V1 technology. Generally, the technology group where Neoverse V-series falls in is called <a rel="nofollow" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wassenaar_Arrangement" target="_blank">Wassenaar</a> -- multilateral export control regime (MECR) with 42 participating states. The Neoverse V1 and V2 can not be sold in China, while Neoverse N1 and N2 can. Alibaba's T-Head engineer argued, "We feel that the western world sees us as second-class people. While NVIDIA has launched high-end GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 GPUs from its Ada Lovelace family, middle and lower-end products are brewing to satisfy the entire consumer market. Today, according to the kopite7kimi, a well-known leaker, we have potential information about the configuration of the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card. Featuring 4352 FP32 CUDA cores, the GPU is powered by an AD106-350-A1 die. On the die, there is 32 MB of L2 cache. To pair, it has 8 GB of GDDR6 18 Gbps memory, which should be enough to power games at 1440p resolution, which this card is aiming for.<br />

The design of the cards reference PG190 PCB is supposedly very short, making it ideal for ITX-sized designs we could see from NVIDIA's AIB partners. Interestingly, with a TDP of 220 Watts, the reference card is powered by the infamous 16-pin 12VHPWR connector, capable of supplying 600 Watts of power. This choice of connector is unclear; however, it could be NVIDIA's push to standardize its usage across all products in the Ada Lovelace family stack. Cougar Unveils Polar X2 Line of High-Wattage ATX 3.0 PSUs with 12VHPWR Connectors
Cougar today unveiled the Polar X2 line of high-wattage modular power supplies. The lineup includes two models based on output—1050 W and 1200 W. "Polar X2 has passed the strict four dynamic peak load tests in the ATX 3.0 specification, in which the instantaneous peak power consumption must withstand a dynamic of 100μs and reach 200% of the rated power," says the company on the ATX 3.0 readiness of these PSUs. <br />

Under the hood, the Polar X2 features a single +12 V rail design with 80 Plus Platinum efficiency, LLC+ DC to DC and switching, along with most common electrical protections. The PSU uses a 135 mm hydro-dynamic bearing fan that's tuned to remain fanless up to 40% load. Both models offer the same set of modular cables, with connectors that include a 24-pin ATX, two 8-pin EPS, one 12+4 pin ATX 12VHPWR connector capable of 600 W continuous output and excursions within ATX 3.0 + PCIe Gen 5 specs; seven 6+2 pin PCIe power, twelve SATA power, and four 4-pin Molex connectors. Epic Games to Pay $520 Million for Using Deceptive Patterns on Children
Fortnite maker, Epic Games, has on Monday reached a settlement in court in an investigation by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), to pay a total of 520 million US Dollars in fines. This fine is because Epic deployed shady tactics of manipulating children into purchasing Fortnite V-bucks, skins, etc., without proper consent forms and purchase order confirmations. Even with millions of complaints from parents, Epic decided to proceed with its tactics and <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.deceptive.design/" target="_blank">used dark patterns</a> that deceived the original intent. Thus, the FTC has made a case that this violates the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) rule, and Epic Games will have to pay the fine.<br />
<br />
The fine is consists of two separate causes. The $275 million monetary penalty for violating the COPPA Rule—the largest penalty ever obtained for violating an FTC rule, and the $245 million to refund consumers for its dark patterns and billing practices. The refund fine is FTC's most considerable refund amount in a gaming case and its most significant administrative order in history. Epic said, "Over the past few years, we've been making changes to ensure our ecosystem meets the expectations of our players and regulators, which we hope will be a helpful guide for others in our industry. Intel Core i9-13900KS Posts 5% Single-Thread Performance Uplift Over i9-13900K
Intel's upcoming flagship Core i9-13900KS "Raptor Lake" processor posts a 5% single-threaded performance lead over the company's current top-chip, the i9-13900K. The i9-13900KS is shown in leaked benchmarks scoring 2366 points in the Cinebench R23 single-thread, compared to 2243 points of the i9-13900K, 1948 points of the upcoming i9-13900 (non-K), and 2057 points of the AMD flagship Ryzen 9 7950X. This works out to a 5.43% gain for the i9-13900KS in comparison to the i9-13900K, and an impressive 15% gain over the 7950X. The multi-threaded score is 3.3% higher between the i9-13900KS and the i9-13900K.<br />
<br />
The Core i9-13900KS wins on account of higher frequency, with its P-cores boosting up to 6.00 GHz, compared to 5.80 GHz of its predecessor, and its 150 W processor base power providing better boost state residency. The locked Core i9-13900 is held back by lower clock speeds of up to 5.60 GHz P-core boost, and power limits of just 65 W PBP and 221 W MTP. What's interesting in these numbers, though, is that even the i9-13900 is shown beating the 7950X in the multi-threaded test, scoring about 1.6% higher. Its single-threaded performance is marginally lower than the 7950X.
