Thermalright introduced the TL-B12015 line of slimline case fans, the TL-B12015, and the TL-B12015 Extrem. These 120 mm fans come with thickness of 15 mm, but a design effort is made by Thermalright to shore up airflow comparable to regular 25 mm-thick fans. This is done by giving the impeller a 15-blade design compared to most 25 mm fans that come with 9 blades. The impellers are also webbed along the edges to maximize axial airflow. The two variants differ with performance specs.

The TL-B12015 turns at speeds of up to 2,150 RPM, pushing up to 57.8 CFM of airflow and a static pressure of 1.8 mm H₂O, and a maximum noise level of a respectable 25.37 dBA. The TL-B12015 Extrem, on the other hand, has a much higher maximum speed, going up to 3,150 RPM, for maximum airflow of 83.61 CFM, 3.4 mm H₂O static pressure, and maximum noise of 37.07 dBA. Both fans come with a dual ball-bearing design, and include a metal fan grille to protect your fingers from its turbine-like 15-blade impeller turning at high speeds. NVIDIA has released the GeForce 581.29 WHQL Game Ready drivers adding optimizations for Borderlands 4 (that will launch this week on September 12) and Dying Light: The Beast. The update also includes Studio Driver support for Microsoft TRELLIS NIM. The drivers fix a critical Marvel Rivals performance issue that affected users on previous 581.xx versions. This should restore expected frame rates and gameplay.

However, some known issues persist. Counter-Strike 2 may display slightly distorted text when running below native resolution, Adobe Premiere Pro users could experience system freezes during hardware-accelerated exports on certain configurations, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth players might notice light flickering on some systems.

Today, 2K and Gearbox Software announced that Borderlands 4, the definitive looter-shooter and latest entry in the genre-defining Borderlands franchise, is now available worldwide for PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The University of Osaka D3 Center will begin trial operations of the "Osaka University Compute and sTOrage Platform Urging open Science" (OCTOPUS), a computational and data platform promoting open science built by NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701), starting this September, with full-scale operations commencing in December.

OCTOPUS is a supercomputer with a theoretical computational performance of 2.293 petaflops, centered around 140 computing nodes of the "NEC LX201Ein-1". Compared to the previous system, it not only offers approximately 1.5 times the performance, but also incorporates a provenance management function, which automatically records and manages processes such as data generation, jointly developed by both parties.
