Titan Army Gaming Monitors Start Selling in the US
Titan Army is a Chinese gaming monitor brand that's been making waves in Asia due to their incredible value for the features on offer. The company uses Fast IPS and curved VA panels to offer resolutions and refresh rates from a segment above, at a given price range. The brand is now making inroads to the US market, and is now available on Amazon. The company dipped its toes into the US market with three well priced monitor models.
At the top, is the B0CKVPB31C, a 32-inch curved 16:9 monitor with WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, 95% DCI-P3 coverage, 1500R curvature, and support for AMD FreeSync Premium Plus. All this, for $299. At the same price, the company is also selling the B0CKVL7KMZ, a 27-inch flatscreen monitor with the same WQHD resolution as its 32-inch curved sibling, but with faster 180 Hz refresh rate using a Fast IPS panel. For under $200, the company is selling the B0CKVL38N5, a 24-inch flatscreen with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, but with 100 Hz fresh rate using a Fast IPS panel. All three models are now available on Amazon, some regions could see a checkbox coupon that shaves $20 to $40 off.[Only registered and activated users can see links. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Could Come to Samsung and Qualcomm SoCs
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) is an open-source resolution upscaling technology that takes lower-resolution input and uses super-resolution temporal upscaling technology, frame generation using AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) technology, and built-in latency reduction technology to provide greater-resolution output images from lower-resolution settings. While the technology is open-source, it battles in market share with NVIDIA and the company's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). However, in the mobile space, there hasn't been much talk about implementing upscaling technology up until now. According to a popular leaker @Tech_Reve on X/Twitter, we have information that AMD is collaborating with Samsung and Qualcomm to standardize on upscaling technology implementations in mobile SoCs.
Not only does the leak imply that the AMD FSR technology will be used in Samsung's upcoming Exynos SoC, but some AMD ray tracing will be present as well. The leaker has mentioned Qualcomm, which means that future iterations of Snapdragon are up to adopt the FSR algorithmic approach to resolution upscaling. We will see how and when, but with mobile games growing in size and demand, FSR could come in handy to provide mobile gamers with a better experience. Primarily, this targets Android devices, which Qualcomm supplies, where Apple's iPhone recently announced MetalFX Upscaling technology with an A17 Pro chip.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Alibaba Readies PCIe 5.0 SSD Controller Based on RISC-V ISA
Alibaba's T-Head unit, responsible for the design and development of in-house IC design, has announced the first domestic SSD controller based on the PCIe 5.0 specification standard. Called the Zhenyue 510, the SSD controller is aimed at enterprise SSD offerings. Interestingly, the Zhenyue 510 is powered by T-Head's custom Xuantie C910 cores based on RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA). Supporting the PCIe 5.0 standard for interfacing, the SSD controller uses DDR5 memory as a cache buffer. Regarding the performance, there are no official figures yet, but the company claims to have 30% lower input/output latencies compared to competing offerings. T-Head claims the SSD has an IO processing capability of "3400 Kilo IOs per second, a data bandwidth of 14 Gbytes/s, and an extremely high energy efficiency of 420 Kilo IO per second for every Watt".
This is an essential step towards Chinese self-sufficiency as T-Head has designed various ICs for processing different tasks. Still, now Alibaba's chip design unit has a domestic design for storage as well. Claiming low latency figures, the Zhenyue 510 is suitable for enterprise workloads like big data analysis, as well as AI inference/training systems workloads. The development of Zhenyue 510 started in 1H 2021, and it took the company more than two years to complete the design and validation of the chip to prepare it for deployment. This is the second Chinese-made SSD controller after [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] in September.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Steam Deck Works with Solidigm's 61.44 TB Enterprise SSD
With a simple mod, Storage Review got a Valve Steam Deck handheld gaming console to work with the world's highest capacity SSD, the mammoth 61.44 TB variant of the Solidigm D5-P5336. At its core, the Steam Deck is a highly compacted x86-64 PC powered by an AMD Ryzen mobile processor that features an industry standard PCIe interface, which it uses for an onboard M.2-2230 NVMe SSD. Storage Review used a simple adapter that converts M.2 to U.2—the interface of the D5-P5336—and the Steam Deck just worked.
Out of the box, the Steam Deck uses Valve's SteamOS, although it's fairly straightforward to install Windows, and get the Steam application to present its user interface (with which you can play just about any Windows PC game that's not yet available on SteamOS). A quick benchmark with KDiskMark (the Linux analog of CDM) sees the D5-P5336 post sequential read speeds of 3.6 GB/s, with 2.8 GB/s sequential writes. There's a catch here, though. It's not practical to lug the D5-P5336 along with your Steam Deck, the Solidigm drive is designed for servers, and besides the U.2 connection, requires a power input that a U.2 enclosure can provide.[Only registered and activated users can see links. ASML to Add 600 DUV Machines to China's Semiconductor Manufacturing Capacity by 2025
Thanks to the TMTPost interview with the Global Vice President and China President of ASML, Shen Bo, the Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer has revealed that around 1,400 of its deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography and metrology machines are currently installed in China. The company is expected to achieve a global output of 600 DUV equipment units by the end of 2025. Shen Bo stated that the company aims to install 500-600 units of DUV machinery in China by late 2025 or early 2026. The growth in ASML's Chinese revenues was notably high, with China contributing 46% of the company's system sales in 3Q 2023, representing an 82% revenue increase from the previous quarter.
China plans to build 25 12-inch wafer fabs in the next five years, covering logic wafers, DRAM, and MEMS production. ASML currently has a substantial presence in China, with 16 offices, 12 warehouses, distribution centers, development centers, training centers, and maintenance centers. The company employs over 1,600 people for its China operations. Despite the export restrictions imposed by the US government, ASML anticipates that the new measures will have little impact on its financial outlook for 2023 as it strives to meet the growing demand for semiconductor manufacturing equipment in the global market.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Intel Readies Xeon W-2500 Series with 4-channel Memory to Square Off Against Threadripper 7000
The HEDT/workstation segment is heating up, with Intel preparing to launch a new line of low(er) core-count processor models with I/O features competitive to those of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series for the AMD TRX50 platform. The new W-2500 series is designed for the same Intel W790 chipset Socket LGA4677 motherboards as the W-2400 series, but with increased CPU core-counts across the board. The top W-2500 series processor model comes with a 26-core/52-thread core-configuration, 2 MB of dedicated L2 cache per core, and 48.75 MB of shared L3 cache.
Where the Intel Xeon W-2500 series aces over the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 (TRX50), is the platform I/O. While both processors offer a 4-channel DDR5 interface, the Intel chip offers a 64-lane PCI-Express Gen 5 root complex, in comparison to the 48-lane PCIe Gen 5 root complex from the processor. The TRX50 platform itself adds up to 88 PCIe lanes, but only 48 of these are Gen 5. The W-2500 series includes seven processor models, with the lowest model giving you 8-core/16-thread, and the highest one being 26-core/52-thread. Here the Threadripper 7000 TRX50 has a distinct advantage, as it offers core counts of up to 64-core/128-thread.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

(PR) Rebound in Mini LED Product Shipments to 13.79 Million Units in 2024, Continued Growth Expected Until 2027
TrendForce's "2024 New Mini LED BLU Display Trend Analysis" report reveals that due to declining demand in consumer electronics, shipments of Mini LED products are expected to decrease to 13.337 million units in 2023. However, the market is projected to rebound in 2024, with shipments estimated at 13.792 million units, and the growth trend is expected to continue through 2027. This decline is part of a larger trend of decreasing prices for Mini LED products, setting the stage for sustained growth in shipments. The report predicts that by 2027, shipments could reach as high as 31.453 million units, with a CAGR of approximately 23.9% from 2023 to 2027.
In the television sector, despite the robust increase in LCD panel prices and the continued high depreciation costs of OLED products, Mini LED component prices are on a downward trend. Now, apart from the relatively small-scale and still early-stage glass-based Mini LEDs, the costs of various other Mini LED TV panels are lower than those of White OLED and QD OLED. Thus, TrendForce maintains that Mini LEDs remain the most effective and optimal solution for enhancing contrast. Against this backdrop, the forecast for Mini LED TVs is positive, with an expected continuous growth in shipment volumes. Shipments are projected to reach 6.21 million units by 2024, marking a 53.5% YoY increase. Moving forward to 2027, shipment volumes are projected to hit 24.4 million units, capturing roughly 12.1% of the overall TV market. The CAGR for this segment from 2023 to 2027 is projected to be around 56.7%.[Only registered and activated users can see links. (PR) Global SSD Shipments Down 10.7% YoY to 114 Million Units in 2022
TrendForce has issued its latest findings, indicating that the global SSD market has rectified its supply and demand dynamics in 2022, following a resolution in the shortage of master control ICs that had hampered the market in 2021. Despite the normalization of supply, global SSD shipments witnessed a decline, with only 114 million units shipped in 2022—a 10.7% decrease from the prior year.
The top three SSD shipment leaders of 2022 were Kingston, ADATA, and Lexar, with Kingston and ADATA maintaining solid advantages and experiencing growth in market share over 2021. Lexar's growth was attributed to an aggressive push for revenue in anticipation of going public. Kimtigo, in 2022, made significant strides in expanding into industrial control and OEM markets, which in turn boosted its shipment volume and market share. Netac maintained its competitive edge in the SSD market alongside securing several government orders in the enterprise SSD sector, keeping its market share and ranking consistent with the previous year.[Only registered and activated users can see links. (PR) EK Intros Pro Series Preformed Reinforced Tubing For Hard to Reach Components
EK, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, is expanding its soft tubing portfolio with a new tubing option from the EK Pro line. The latest product, EK-Pro Tubing 10/17 mm Reinforced EPDM Preformed 45°/90° - Black, as the name suggests, is a water-cooling tube made of reinforced EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber. While EPDM tubing is generally soft, this solution is reinforced with nylon to form a semi-hard tube with one 45 and one 90-degree angle. It is excellent for locations that aren't easily accessible, where a sharp bend would likely create a kink in regular tubing. It comes with a plastic insert and clamps to secure an inter-tube connection.
EK-Pro Tubing 10/17 mm Reinforced EPDM Preformed 45°/90°
This durable matte black tubing is designed to withstand harsh conditions for very long periods. It offers an exceptional lifespan as it can resist UV, ozone, and heat exposure for many years, while its thick rubber walls prevent the coolant from evaporating. Special nylon reinforces the tube wall, preventing kinks and allowing the preformed angle shape. It can be cut if only a piece of it will be used, depending on user requirements.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Intel "Emerald Rapids" 8592+ and 8558U Xeon CPUs with 64C and 48C Configurations Spotted
Intel's next-generation Emerald Rapids Xeon lineup is just around the corner, and we are now receiving more leaks as the launch nears. Today, we get to see leaks of two models: a 64-core Xeon 8592+ Platinum and a 48-core Xeon 8558U processor. First is the Xeon 8592+ Platinum, which is possibly Intel's top-end design with 64 cores and 128 threads. Running at the base frequency of 1.9 GHz, the CPU can boost up to 3.9 GHz. This SKU carries 488 MB of total cache, where 120 MB is dedicated to L2 and 320 MB is there for L3. With a TDP of 350 Watts, the CPU can even be adjusted to 420 Watts.
Next up, we have the Xeon 8558U processor, which has been spotted in Geekbench. The Xeon 8558U is a 48-core, 96-threaded CPU with a 2.0 GHz base clock whose boost frequency has yet to be shown or enabled, likely because it is an engineering sample. It carries 96 MB of L2 cache and 260 MB of L3 cache, making for a total of 356 MB of cache (which includes L1D and L1I as well). Both of these SKUs should launch with the remaining models in the Emerald Rapids family, dubbed 5th generation Xeon Scalable, on December 14 this year.[Only registered and activated users can see links. NVIDIA Plans 2024 CES (January) Launch for RTX 40-series SUPER?
NVIDIA is reportedly planning to time the launch of its GeForce RTX 40-series SUPER line of graphics cards with the 2024 International CES, scheduled for January. This is according to kopite7kimi, a reliable source with NVIDIA leaks. The company tends to plan special GeForce RTX gaming events along the sidelines of big trade-shows for new product launches.
The mid-life refresh of the RTX 40-series "Ada" will see the introduction of three new enthusiast-segment graphics card models without disturbing RTX 4090 as the series flagship. In the higher end of things, the company is planning to launch the RTX 4080 SUPER, which could push the performance envelope further above that of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, and possibly prepare for the upcoming RX 7950 XTX. The unusually named RTX 4070 Ti SUPER could be designed to consolidate at the $800 price-point against the RX 7900 XT. The new RTX 4070 SUPER, meanwhile, could be designed to fix the company's standing at the $600 mark by beating the RX 7800 XT.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Update 05:29 UTC: MEGAsizeGPU revealed the retail branding inserts for boxes, for the RTX 40-series SUPER family. It even confirms the existence of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER (two brand extensions clumped together).

ASRock Begins Rolling Out AGESA 1.1.0.0 Firmware with Phoenix APU Support
ASRock began rolling out UEFI firmware updates for its Socket AM5 motherboards that encapsulate AMD AGESA 1.1.0.0 ComboAM5PI microcode. This would be the second release of AGESA to support AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7000G "Phoenix" and "Phoenix 2" desktop APUs that the company reportedly plans to launch later this year. The AGESA 1.1.0.0 microcode comes with the SMU version 76.72.0 for "Phoenix" and "Phoenix 2," and continues with version 84.79.223 for "Raphael" and "Raphael-X" processors.
Unlike several past generations of Ryzen branded desktop APUs that only had 2-3 processor models in the retail channel, AMD is reportedly planning a slightly bigger lineup of APUs for the Socket AM5 platform, consisting of Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5, and possibly Ryzen 7 processor models, and their Ryzen PRO variants. The Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 models are expected to be based on the "Phoenix 2" silicon that has a combination of two "Zen 4" and four "Zen 4c" CPU cores and an iGPU with 4 compute units; while it is rumored that at least one Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 processor model will be built on "Phoenix," which has up to eight "Zen 4" cores, and a large iGPU with up to 12 compute units. So far we haven't seen reports of AMD bringing Ryzen AI to the desktop platform.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Steel Nomad will be our most demanding non-ray tracing benchmark and will not only support Windows using DirectX 12, but also macOS and iOS using Metal, Android using Vulkan, and Linux using Vulkan for Enterprise and reviewers. To celebrate 3DMark's 25th year, the scene will feature some callbacks to many of our previous benchmarks. We hope you have fun finding them all![Only registered and activated users can see links. AMD Releases Preview Driver for FSR 3 Fluid Motion Frames
AMD late Thursday released the latest version of the Special Preview Driver that lets you experience FSR 3 Fluid Motion Frames (version: 23.30.01.03), the AMD technology designed to rival NVIDIA's DLSS 3 Frame Generation. The driver is off-branch, and works with Radeon RX 6000 series, and RX 7000 series; but Fluid Motion Frames (FMF) technology is designed to be as cross-platform as FSR 2. For now, FMF is designed to work with DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 applications, on Radeon RX 7000 RDNA3 and RX 6000 RDNA2 GPUs. The November 9th update improves stability with task-switching between an application that has FMF enabled, and one that doesn't; and a number of intermittent driver crashes and bugs with the display of metrics.

Valve Updates the Steam Deck with OLED Display, Overhauled Internals
Valve has announced an updated version of the Steam Deck and the headline feature is the new 7.4-inch OLED display. That's a mere 0.4-inches bigger than the original Steam Deck LCD display and it retains the same 1280 x 800 resolution. However, everything else related to the display has been improved and the refresh rate is now 90 Hz rather than 60 Hz. The display is also a lot brighter, with an SDR rating of 600 nits and an HDR rating of 1000 nits. Valve also claims a 110 percent P3 colour gamut, a one million to one contrast ratio and a sub 0.1 ms response time. On top of that, Valve has added what the company calls "high performance touch" which is said to improve the responsiveness of the display.
It's not just the display that has been improved, as Valve has moved to a 6 nm AMD Zen 2 based SoC which seems to allow the GPU to run at 1.6 GHz at all times, as Valve no longer lists a frequency range for the GPU. The power envelope remains the same though, with a range of 4-15 Watts. Paired with the new SoC is faster LPDDR5 memory at 6400 MT/s, up from 5500 MT/s, which should provide a small boost in gaming performance. An improved cooling solution is also part of the package, which is also likely a reason for the more constant GPU clocks. Gone are the entry level storage SKUs and the OLED version of the Steam Deck only comes with 512 GB or 1 TB of internal storage. The WiFi and Bluetooth module has also been overhauled and now supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The battery has also been boosted from a 40 Whr pack to a 50 Whr pack and Valve now claims three to 12 hours of battery life during gaming, as well as faster charging times. Finally the weight has dropped by 29 grams, which might not be much, but still impressive considering the larger battery pack. The downside you ask? That would be the price, as Valve is asking for US$549/€569 for the 512 GB version, with the 1 TB coming at US$649/€679 when it becomes available on the 16th of November.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Leaked Flyer Hints at Possible AMD Ryzen 9000 Series Powered by Zen 5
A curious piece of marketing material on the Chiphell forum has sent ripples through the tech community, featuring what appears to be an Alienware desktop equipped with an unannounced AMD Ryzen 9000-series processor. The authenticity of this flyer is up for debate, with possibilities ranging from a simple typo by Alienware to a fabricated image, or it could even suggest that AMD is on the cusp of unveiling its next-generation Ryzen CPUs for desktop PCs. While intrigue is high, it's important to approach such revelations cautiously, with a big grain of salt. AMD's existing roadmap points toward a 2024 release for its Zen 5-based Ryzen desktop processors and EPYC server CPUs, which casts further doubt on the Ryzen 9000 series appearing ahead of schedule.
We have to wait for AMD's major upcoming events, including the "[Only registered and activated users can see links. Next, we hope to hear from AMD about upcoming events such as CES in January and Computex in May, but we don't have any official information on product launches in the near term. If the company is preparing anything, the Alienware flyer pictured below should indicate it, if the source is confirmed. However, the doubt remains, and we should be skeptical of its truthfulness.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Rockstar Games to Drop Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer in December
As the end of the year is getting closer, Rockstar Games has taken to social media to express heartfelt gratitude to its global community of players. The legendary game developer and publisher is poised to celebrate a quarter-century of industry-defining work since its inception in 1998. In a move that has electrified the gaming community, Rockstar Games has announced plans to unveil the first trailer for the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise in early December, on the company's 25th anniversary. The next-generation title is rumored to be called Grand Theft Auto VI (6), following the release of GTA V. In early December, we should see the first official trailer for GTA VI, which doesn't mean that the game is coming anytime soon.
On the contrary, the trailer could serve just to start the hype cycle. Sam Houser, the co-founder and president of Rockstar Games, has posted: "We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you." Therefore, an official launch date has yet to be set, so the community of GTA players around the globe needs to hold their patience a bit longer.[Only registered and activated users can see links. ZALMAN Intros CNPS13X Black CPU Cooler
ZALMAN today introduced the CNPS13X Black tower-type CPU cooler. The company has a long line of side-flow tower type coolers, but this among the first with an illuminated and stylized top-plate as is contemporary. The cooler features a typical aluminium fin-stack tower type heatsink that's offset a little to its left side, to reduce intrusion of the fan into the motherboard's memory area. A nickel-plated copper base makes contact with the processor, from which five 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes pass through, conveying heat to the aluminium fin-stack, which is ventilated by a 120 mm ZALMAN AF120 fan.
The base features a reverse direct-touch heat pipe arrangement that reduces the space between the heat-source and the heatpipes, improving conductivity. The included fan features a hydraulic bearing that's rated for 40,000 hours, and features a webbed impeller that guides all of its airflow axially. It takes in 4-pin PWM input, turns at speeds ranging between 600 to 2,000 RPM, pushing up to 69.12 CFM of airflow, with 2.01 mm H₂O static pressure, and a maximum noise output of 29.7 dBA. The top plate takes in 3-pin addressable RGB input. The ZALMAN CNPS13X Black is designed for a thermal load of 240 W. The cooler measures 135 mm x 79 mm x 159 mm (WxDxH), weighing 810 g. Thank you to the 3DMark community - the gamers, overclockers, hardware reviewers, tech-heads and those in the industry using our benchmarks, who have joined us in discovering what the cutting edge of PC hardware can do over this last quarter of a century. Looking back, it's amazing how far graphics have come, and we're very excited to see what the next 25 years bring.
After looking back, it's time to share a sneak peek of what's coming next. Here are some preview screenshots for 3DMark Steel Nomad, our successor to 3DMark Time Spy. It's been more than seven years since we launched Time Spy, and after more than 42 million submitted results, we think it's time for a new heavy non-ray tracing benchmark.

AMD Readies Even More Derivatives of the 4 nm "Phoenix" Processor Silicon
AMD's "Phoenix" monolithic processor silicon drives the company's Ryzen 7040 series mobile processor lineup, and possible some of its upcoming Ryzen 7000G desktop processor models. It is the first chip from the AMD camp to feature an AI accelerator, besides up to 8 "Zen 4" CPU cores, and a large iGPU based on the latest RDNA3 graphics architecture, with up to 12 compute units, the latest display I/O and media acceleration capabilities. Over the course of its lifecycle, AMD realized that it can't use the nearly 200 mm² silicon built on the expensive 4 nm node to power lower-end processor SKUs, and so developed the smaller 137 mm² "Phoenix 2" silicon that lacks the AI accelerator, has a smaller iGPU with just 4 compute units, and a unique hybrid CPU with 2 "Zen 4" and 4 "Zen 4c" cores. We're now hearing that the company is designing even more derivatives.
The PCI ID Repository discovered two new IDs believed to reference the iGPU models of "Phoenix 3" and "Phoenix 4" chips. At this point we have no clue what the two chips could be, and what the mixture of their CPU, iGPU, and AI accelerator components could be, especially given that AMD is able to carve out Ryzen 3 SKUs from "Phoenix 2." We speculate that "Phoenix 3" and "Phoenix 4" could reference rebranding such as "Escher," although it could even be entirely new chips with different combinations of "Zen 4" and "Zen 4c" cores.[Only registered and activated users can see links. AMD EPYC CPUs Affected by CacheWarp Vulnerability, Patches are Already Available
Researchers at Graz University of Technology and the Helmholtz Center for Information Security have released their paper on CacheWarp—the latest vulnerability affecting some of the prior generation AMD EPYC CPUs. Titled CVE-2023-20592, the exploit targets first-generation EPYC Naples, second-generation EPYC Rome, and third-generation EPYC Milan. CacheWarp operates by exploiting a vulnerability in AMD's Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) technology, specifically targeting the SEV-ES (Encrypted State) and SEV-SNP (Secure Nested Paging) versions. The attack is a software-based fault injection technique that manipulates the cache memory of a virtual machine (VM) running under SEV. It cleverly forces modified cache lines of the guest VM to revert to their previous state. This action circumvents the integrity checks that SEV-SNP is designed to enforce, allowing the attacker to inject faults without being detected.
Unlike attacks that rely on specific guest VM vulnerabilities, CacheWarp is more versatile and dangerous because it does not depend on the characteristics of the targeted VM. It exploits the underlying architectural weaknesses of AMD SEV, making it a broad threat to systems relying on this technology for security. The CacheWarp attack can bypass robust security measures like encrypted virtualization, posing a significant risk to data confidentiality and integrity in secure computing environments. AMD has issued an update for EPYC Milan with a hot-loadable microcode patch and updated the firmware image without any expected performance degradation. And for the remaining generations, AMD states that no mitigation is available for the first or second generations of EPYC processor (Naples and Rome) since the SEV and SEV-ES features are not designed to protect guest VM memory integrity, and the SEV-SNP is not available.[Only registered and activated users can see links. Intel Confirms APO Feature Not Coming to 13th Gen and 12th Gen Core Processors
Intel Application Performance Optimization (APO) is a unique feature that sets 14th Gen Core "Raptor Lake Refresh" processors apart from 13th Gen "Raptor Lake," despite the two being practically the same microarchitecture. APO is software-based, application-specific processor optimization that is found to offer an up to 16% performance boost in "Metro Exodus," and an up to 13% boost in "Rainbow Six: Siege." These are the only two games that Intel has released APO optimizations for, and for now, APO is only supported on the Core i9-14900K and i9-14900KF. Hardware Unboxed learned that while the company might bring APO to more 14th Gen Core processor models in the near future; it won't make it to 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" and older 12th Gen Core "Alder Lake."
APO is an extension of Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology framework that provides a greater degree of handholding for the OS scheduler, to give a specific application the best possible allocation of hardware system resources. For Intel to release APO profiles to new games, it needs extensive testing and validation specific to processor models and the applications themselves, which is probably why the company is limiting APO to only its current 14th Gen processors, and only specific processor models within the lineup. You can catch the Hardware Unboxed presentation with their testing of APO on the two supported titles, and Intel's statement, in the source link below.[Only registered and activated users can see links.
