Romanian operators target more subs

Cable and DTH operators in Romania plan to target the 1.4 million households currently receiving only terrestrial TV services in the run-up to digitalisation.
According to ZF, the value of this market, based on average monthly subscription fees of around €5, could be up to €84 million a year.
It has previously been reported that the state would provide subsidies of up to €90 for each DTT decoder.
However, the Communications Minister Gabriel Sandu now says this will not be the case, with the responsibility falling to the operator of what will be the second DTT multiplex.
This will be required to cover 80% of the country, while the first one will cover 60%.
