Download mkv2vob
its originally made for PS3, as ps3 cannot play mkv files either, a simple demux is done and it works.
convert your mkv file with this (takes 10seconds, and its still compatible with all other players)
make sure you have .avi as extension of file at the end. If file is .vob, just rename to .avi.
copy file to box (/media/divx) on your satbox, and you are done.
Tested and working, still a libsync issue thoug
