In curand un nou satelit se va pozitiona la 0.8 grade vest ,acesta face parte din flota de sateliti a corporatiei Telenor Satellite Broadcasting.

THOR 5 is set to launch in the first quarter of 2008 and will be based on Orbital’s industry leading STAR™ satellite platform. THOR 5 will replace our current THOR II satellite as well as provide additional transponders for ***ure growth.

Telenor's new spacecraft will provide Ku-band fixed telecommunications and direct-to-home television broadcasting services from Telenor's 1º West Longitude orbital location. The new satellite will have 24 transponders with three times more payload power compared to the current THOR II orbital location. This will improve our existing coverage in the Nordic countries, Europe and the Middle East.

Thor 5 va inlocui actualul Thor II avand transpodere in plus pt. viitoarele programe.
Thor 5 promite imbunatatirea acoperirii in tarile nordice, europa si orientul mijlociu.T5 va dispune de 24 de transpodere si un payload power de 3 ori mai mare decat actualul thor II.
Satelitul are ca producator Orbital Sciences Corpotation.Satelitul cu o masa de 2005 kg va fi pe arhicunosca locatie 0,8W avand un sistem de stabilizare pe 3 axe si un consum total de 4,4 KW.:agresiv:
Lansarea satelitului va avea loc la Baikonur,Kazahstan.Telenor va pune in functiune satelitul in alII-lea sfert al anului curent.

At the spaceport Baikonur continues the preparation for the starting of space rocket "Proton-m with the starting block" Breeze- M "and the telecommunication automatic spacecraft Thor 2R.
Today in the assembly and testing housing of the area of 9?-shch0 is conducted the transfer of rocket to the transporter-erector aggregate, and final procedures on the carrier rocket are performed. After the completion of works, the carrier rocket will be transported to the technical servicing station for servicing of the tanks of the low pressure of starting block "Breeze- M".
The calculations Of roskosmosa prepare the equipment of station for the forthcoming servicing of starting block, and the combat crews of space troops of Russia, stationed in Baikonur, bring propellant components to the technical servicing station.

It is planned, that the servicing will be completed on 6 February, next day it is planned to conduct the removal of rocket to the launching system of the area of 200 spaceports.

The launch of space rocket "Proton-m" with the starting block "Breeze- M" and the communication satellite Thor 2R is planned from the area of 200 spaceports 14 it is hour 33 minutes on 10 February, 2008.

Mai sunt cateva ore pana cand Thor 5 va fi pozitionata pe orbita. Sper ca aceasta operatiune sa fie un real succes si odata cu Thor5 sa vedem si o inbunatatire a spotului nordic.
Pentru a vedea in direct lansarea aveti rezervat pe 0.8 vest un canal pe transporderul 12399 / H / 28000. ora de lansare 11:33 UTC / 12:33 CET.

Da intradevar sa amanat pentru data de maine, dar ramane incerta ora si de ce spun acest lucru pentru ca am informatii contradictori:
pe 12399 ne spune ora 12:33 CET.
iar pe http://www.ilslaunch.com/ils/ este altceva.

on Thor 5. 12418 MHz Downlink polarisation: Vertical Symbolrate: 28.0 Msym/sec Forward Error Correction: 7/8

The THOR 5 transition will commence on the 15th April with a completion date set for the 25th April 2008. Until then, THOR 5 continues in orbit testing and handover from Orbital Sciences Corporation is expected at the end of this month.

Calitatea semnalului este net superioara fata de Thor 2 spot Europa, pe noul transponder calitatea semnalului a crescut cu aproximativ 20 procente . Astept un transponder cu spot nordic sa verific daca intradevar si spotul nordic sa extins si spre Romania.

Please note that the dual illumination of “TV Finland”, “Ylesat 1 & 2” will cease 27 August 2008 at

10:00 CET.
Since TV Finland, Ylesat 1 & Ylesat 2 was transferred from the Intelsat 10-02 satellite to the Thor 5
satellite, on the T2 European beam, the Thor 3 coverage is no longer needed.
